HI, Just removed the whole water/heatpipe set up from the Asus Maxumis Extreme MB, Because I want to reseal the north and crosslinx, plus the south and moset chips.
Everything came off great, just slow and steady.
First: The fusion block seems to be mounted nice, seems to be pretty level and not just glopped on plus it seems very solid mount, but I was wondering if I should try to rempove and reseat and re-add heating coumpoud, or just leave well enough with the fusion water block.
Second: Since I love the Artic Silver Ceremic, very much reccomend it. My whole goal was to reseal all the other chips with that Artic Silver Ceremic heat xfer stuff, but I just read about "Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound
"
should i just stick with my prvove Artic Silver Ceremic or try this new stuff that has had good reviews.
PS, I used to use Artic Silver, then moved up to Artic Silver 5. but for the last year or so I have used the AS Ceramic and i cannot say enough about it and how well it has worked for me.
So to wrap it up, should i try to remove fusionwater block and reseat, gut says no, looks good
also should i change from my prven fav heat xfer stuff and go with the new stuff.
PS, my son is 9 and involved with this project, he says leav the block on, I might mess something up by trying to hard, plus his vote is the ceramic, he was laughing that I always have been touting the AS Ceramic and now I am building my best system yet and I might not use it. Forget it!
Best Regards
SystemVipers.
