thats odd . Have you tried bumping up the cpu settings to qx6700 ? or qx6800 ? it can be done in the bios . Maybe its a hardware problem other than the motherboard .

It might do, but stick with rated and when you run into problems seeing if looser timings help then?
can anyone suggest a case for this mobo ?

E6750 On Maximus & Higher FSB!
Yes to the guy asking bout E6750 usersm This CPU does greaton this mobo to 515FSB.
To the E6700 user, follow my previous post with my 4GHz BIOS profile and alter as needed and that should be a good start.
For others looking for a good OC start, forget deviders, stick to 1:1 untill you can find your CPU limit, leave RAM 1:1 and relaxed for starters, especially for quad users. Leave FSB strap and RAM frequency to "AUTO".
The guys thinking this mobo is FSB limited are likely using quads and deviders on top of that. It does 500FSB with only 1.5v on NB and functions in complete ACPI modes for sleap, and or, to Hibernate.
HIGH FSB RECAP: FSB Strap and RAM Frequency to "AUTO" (fixes as 1:1), CPU and NB GTL Ref to 63x, Static Read Control; Enabled, Clock Twister to light (moderate if stable later), Ai Booster: Disabled and relax to 3~5 (0 later if stable), Speed Spectrums both Disabled. added use of PLL & FSBT volts , especially for quads, and last but not least, 2x 1GB or less of RAM in white slots (add 2nd if need be later and relax till stable).
IMHO, Avoid Vista if possible, XP Pro X64 is most stable so far in terms of drivers and stability for overclocking.
Try this first before you claim your mobo doesnt OC well, then add the complex of other settings you had before and adjust as needed.
My personal Q6600 can do FSB to 500 but needs closer to 1.756v PLL and 1.52v FSBT and if on the 8x needed 1.58v.
Good Luck!

Hi ppl,
I dunno if someone else has the same problem, if it has been already mentioned apologies.
I have the SE with the PC2-8000 Cellshock 4-4-4-12. After a warm reboot the system never became alive again; it's stuck on the DET DRAM screen. Tried bios reset with the button, removed the battery for a couple of minutes, but nothing. The curious thing is that I do not get any sound from the pc speaker when I have any of the two modules connected. I tried to power without any memory and a sound finally came from the pc speaker. I come to the conclusion that my memory is fried, but isn't a little bit worrying that BOTH sticks make the motherboard to hang at booting ie both are fried? The DRAM voltage was set to 2.2 and overvoltage was taking them to 2.3.
I will order some Crucial DDR2-800 memory to see if the motherboard will fire up and I will update.
Cheers
Only on extreme mobo OC, (IMHO, no current and likely Yorkfield quad is gonna stress this mob on FSB, CPU will run out ong before mobo) or from an intence MCH overload when using all 4 RAM slots and on a devider with performance boosters enabled wich requires more mobo overvolting, then of corse more heat.
Just My Two Cents!

So whats the general consensus on bios 903?
I'm a little nervous after my last episode
I like it, seems a lot more stable than anything previous. My system keeps it together now, even when the ambient temps is at a level that crashed it before with earlier bios'!
could someone please help me with some setting for 3.6GHZ

leoftw, there are a number of ways to try for 3.6, could you be more specific? Here are the BIOS settings that I've found:
400x9 from Maglin
400x9 from giorgos th.
450x8 from Renegade5399
450x8 from cadaveca
450x8 from Grnfinger
450x8 from ChaosMinionX
450x8 from Zucker2k
All have reported varying degrees of success with their specific hardware. I haven't found one that works 100% for me yet.
edit: Ahh, and from the above I see that Grnfinger has tweaked his settings again.Exciting to hear that you're stable again Grnfinger.
Nuckin_Futs, has many pearls of wisdom strewn throughout this discussion. He had this to say about testing for stability:
Following Nuckin_Futs' advice, I've been able to run OCCT testing CPU only with some of the above configurations, but not with the blend test, which tells me that my processor can handle the extra clock/voltage fine, but that I'm most likely overstressting/underfeeding my Northbridge. That's the theory I'm working with at the moment anyway. Later tonight I'm going to re-orient some of my components and see if I can't get some airflow over my Northbridge in order to get stablity. As for the Quads in general, leave memory and graphics out of it till youget the CPU/mobo where you like and stable in 1:1. So for best stability, leave strap and RAM frequency to Auto, Disable both speed spectrum settings, Disable RAM Booster an drelax to 0 (1~3 as needed for stability, when stable again), Set Ai Clock Twister to Auto or light (for now, avoid "strong", as it will add stress to memory system and become unstable, destracting OC test), Enable Static Read Control. Getting higher FSB out of a quad is gonna need some more PLL and FSBT thgen in my core 2 OC. Matbe PLL up to 1.712v and FSTB to 1.504v is a good refference point.
Try this and use overvolting as little as needed for low temps and stability.
Oh, and do note the thoughts offered by cadavega, on PLL voltage...very interesting:
Good Luck, and have fun.I wanted to mention the importance of cpuPLL voltage. It is definately important to increase this votlage when going over 400mhz FSB with a quad. There is no specifics...each cpu will differ. For example, my B3 quad doesn't care for it...increase too much and stability was quickly lost. My G0, tho, was not stabe for 48hr prime without 1.8v...1.7v...33hrs...1.75v...38.5hrs...
Also of note is that my B3 did not need any FSB or PLL voltage change when FSB was increased(or it had negative effects), while my G0 ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED more vFSB and cpuPLL. b3 was happy with 1.2vFSB, 1.5v PLL, as a comparison.
