    Thanks informal!!
With new cards it is a pleasure to bench in CF !
I think I can push 14200 from my system, but limiting factor is CPU.
Anyway soon I will be getting Phenom so I'm leaving this result as it is.

Nice Oc on the Pair of 3870's by the way...
gOtVoltage with Phenom and your card you will score higher than that !

I'm planning mine, if everything will go as planned, next month. That will be my last upgrade for some time because of small purchase I'm doing in 2-3 weeks time called home

You deserved the record man .
And btw,I've just seen your post about power consumption of your system in CF ,amazing results! Almost half from 2900 CF combo!AMD did an excellent job with the RV670.
Also i saw the CF vs SLI results(scaling) on expreview and it seems crossfire-X wins in most cases(performance wise) with lower power consumption. You gotta love it

    Cheers

I second that well done Lightman!!

Cannon flight is only Run that seems to scale well with SLI or Crossfire!! quite nice watching it at high fps mind!!

Im not going CF or SLI yet... Pleased with my 8800GTX so ive now gone and ordered a EVGA 8800Ultra for some A3 revision OCing ooh yeh!!

Ill be 13K best single card on here me thinks!!

£275 for this EVGA 8800Ultra Retail boxed (new)

£300+ for 3870CF so i think is good and since Crosshair is SLI oh well

Come on guys where are some uber scores i.e Amd 15K ++???

    Thanks Flasker!!
You score was my target with HD2900Pro CF and I past it by 50 points !
With HD3870 I found highest AMD score was done on QuadFX platform with 2xFX-74 OCed to 3240MHz - 14125 points and that was my goal !

With your CPU we could do some nice ORB damage!!

    Thank you Psycho_eddie!

It is true that the only test which scales well with CF is Canyon Flight! Battle of Proxyxon is so CPU limited that when I add 40MHz to my CPU it instantly increases 1-2FPS on average . 4GHz A64 would easily pass 15k with my cards ...

When you are going to start benching 8800??

PS. I paid £274 with shipping for my HD3870 pair !

Nice score weedman!!, 8800GT's good performer!!

Where did you get SSC bios from?, was easy to update?... you tried 700/2000 clocks on rivatuner before flash right?

On those clocks close to the performence of my 8800GTX... Evga Ultra arrives soon mind

    Thanks guys
I may look at getting another gt once i get a phenom.
I got the ssc bios from http://www.mvktech.net/ and i flashed it with a cd thru dos. I did try the clocks before flashing and i actually found the memory not to be stable at 1000, but the ssc bios usues slightly looser mem timings to stable the oc.
Also the card idles at 34c and 41c full load so i may look at a volt mod if i can find one.

Ok 740/2000 on HD3850. Do I need a video bios patch to unlock the GPU speed or a program that will allow me to change the voltages like omega drivers (Witch arn't out yet for this GPU). Well it seems I'm not too far off from hitting 10,000 on 3Dmark06. I don't see why I couldn't hit over 800 since the 3870's are the same chips only difference is the clock speed and GDDR4. I think the lower voltages are the cause.

Well, first weekend I spent on getting familiar with Phenom .
I did quick run with ONE HD3870@877/2620 + X4@2500MHz and got back around 11.500 points (250 more than with X2 3500MHz). Couldn't done CF because of my PS but that is sorted now (Hiper 4M880 en route).
So to summarise results will come shortly. Probably Wednesday afternoon. Till then I'm away staying in London....

Thanks, couldn't figure out which one was your score. Did try out XP just to see how much higher it scored, but only gained a few hundred. Do you still have to use dual core drivers or does that make any difference these days.
