Stabe is as stable does, that simple. Everyone has what they determine stable. I myself like C-N's approach, 32M runs/X amount of Prime/X amount of gaming and G2G.

I tried some sub zero ambient love with the new found Winter weather and it was a bust. Couldn't get anything working. I think the resistance on so many things changes so much that to figure it out would mean more risk than I am willing to take. It is about -20c outside and hate to damage anything.

Odd thing was Everest and Coretemp wouldn only read my cores to 8c-8c-4c-4c. I know they were allot lower than that at 1.15v on the cores

Oh well, it was worth a shot.

    My Q is what memory (4GB) i should get if i shoot for 9x400 - 9x450

My rig is pretty much planned out..still sitting on the memory issue.

Also..would you all recommend this board or does it have some issues i am not aware of ?

If you are interested I will sell you my D.F.I LanParty UT P35 T2R & Q6600 that does 2m SuperPi @ 4050mhz and with water cooling it has potencial to run @ 4GHZ

    Ha Thats a good one.

Hey don't matter to me. Each to his own as they say. As long as it works!

I usually only do overnighters on work days. Get home from work, set up an OC and prime until I get up in the morning. If it fails I change it after work and if it passes I turn it off and go for something else when I get home.

Seeing as you live in the "show-me" state, I suppose my 10 hours prime does allow for my good sleeping at night...thanks man. RGone...

prime blend starts by running 1024 literations, for it to run 1 complete pass of all the tests and to reach 1024 again it takes approx 9.5-10 hours, however I have had failiures at 16hrs, even 18hrs, if my system fails prime at all I consider it as unstable, and that in my eyes just wont do, instability leads to corrupt data being written to your hard drives.

a successful prime run for me is 3 complete passes, approx 27hrs, I have freinds who have run it for days on end, to be sure of stability.

this also applies to tests like memtest a quick 1hrs test isnt enough, once again i test upto 5000-10,000%, again about 24hrs to run, and have picked up errors after 4000%+, so your see 500%-1000% just doesnt do it, and as for SuperPI a 1meg test of that fits inside your 8meg CPU cache.
What on earth do you do that requires stability with that kind of stress on the CPU? I have a system that at its current settings fails prime within minutes, yet does everything just fine. Music encoding, F@H, compression/extraction, Source 2007 games, etc. I haven't had a single crash.

Maybe F@H is the best way to stress test!. does it have a error log that can be viewed?

What was mentioned by Seanies Show does hold some merit. C-N has been very kind to be aiding me via PM's over the last couple of days so as to not clog up this thread with my whining for help. He pointed out as well that it takes at least 9.5 hours before prime is fully finished all of its tests and it restarts. After my failure at 8.5h I realized something must be amiss as technically prime was still testing new FFT's and not older ones all over again. The Solution? Disable GTL's and set the GTL buffer strength from Strong to Weak. Works a charm and I am currently running at near 10.5h at HIGHER settings than I was yesterday when prime failed at 8.5h. GTL's and me just don't play nicely together. From now on it is 10h minimum for me on prime if not more. I am going to keep this going probably all day, if it still keeps up that will be about 17h worth of prime. I will consider that stable and call it a day before I test higher tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for helping me, especially Praz and C-N, you guys are a great asset and I appreciate all your input.

Sorry but F@H is a stress test in itself, if you fail prime in a matter of mins, how are you ever gonna send correct completed dated back to F@H servers.

I've been completing WUs just fine. Whether or not that data is 'correct' is a question to be directed at the programmers. Going by the SMP client's long list of errors though, I've pretty sure the program isn't exactly made to ignore erroneous data.

My experience tells me that if Orthos doesn't crack after 2h it won't do it at all.
I only let it run for 12h when doing 24/7 settings.
