Once again Gigabyte shows off theirs first...

Tweaktown has a reference card and is currently testing it
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

We managed to get an early sneak peak into 8800GTS 512MB 3Dmark06 performance and it looks like the new card will be a nail away from the 8800GTX.

This is also the case in older 3Dmark benchmarks, there is just a 100 point score difference between the Geforce 8800 GTX and 8800 GTS 512MB.

It will still be interesting to see how it will perform in games, but a 650MHz clocked card with 128 Shaders has a lot more to offer and it will likely come overclocked, at least from some vendors

I kinda doubt those fudd news.. Sounds like another one of his "best guesses" to me
(Not saying its way off, quite possibly true - but unless its verified with a screenie I cant take it serious anymore)
    Oh blah?

I will end the cooling debate, I have watercooled both and the gt runs cooler, no question.

I cancelled my 3870's after seeing the driverheaven review - cba with CF not working.

I'm glad I did, my GT suffers at this res (1920x1600) - the new GTS will tide me over until the 9800GTX (or whatever it may be called) arrives.

Are they available for pre-order yet? 12th Dec is pretty close!

8800GTS 512MB Version has additional shaders.
apparently the ROPs are disabled since they are not connected to memory.
