I can run 3DMark06 stable at 771/1836/1000 with stock@60% and temps around 75°C, but Crysis is stable with core only at 720.. With a biosmod 1.1V. Maybe some VF900 and a vgpu mod@1.2V will help.. But what about temps then?
you`ll 100% have higher temps,so you might start thinking of an aftermarket cooler if you are going to do the hardmod.

My vgpu measured is now 1.13V. With a vr vmod I would raise to like 1.2V, nothing higher. I was thinking of Accelero S1 with some 12cm fan?

@coolice,i believe you are with stock cooling right?
750 is a very descent clock..

Has anyone tried running lower shader with memory set higher on these things yet...I know the GPU is bare IHS which runs cooler ,but ive noticed the memory seems to not go too high?
Could be heat related or Volts maybe?
Note; Ive only seen yellow pixalating in ATI tool when i pushed a hot card and mem heated up....if you see differant colors or Sqaures not pixels the shader is too high!
the mem of this card is for laughing....Qimonda 1.0ns rated...
not even with Vmem they`ll go higher...

I need some advice...
I already have a BFG 8800gt (the 625mhz one), and I saw a good deal on an XFX (the 600mhz one) so I had to buy it... I'm not sure exactly why yet, but I am trying to figure it out.
My BFG overclocks to 700/1000 ATItool stable (30mins, stock voltages, stock heatsink), but I don't really know if that is good or not. This is with the stock cooler set to 85% fan speed, and it reaches 80*C during 30mins of this. Is this average? Above average? Below average?
If it is below average, I'll sell the BFG (for as much as I paid for it) and keep the XFX and save money. If it is above average, I'll sell the XFX for more than I paid for it (in fact, the difference between what I paid for the BFG and the XFX, so that it's not like keeping the XFX would save me even petty cash).
What I'm worried about is that this is a perfectly normal or sub-par overclock, and that I could be putting an awesome-clocking XFX on Ebay.
Please help! This type of stuff kills me.

Yes, it improved the max corespeed by ~20 MHz and the shaderspeed about ~40MHz. It's also much more quiet than the stock cooler. Also the stock cooler was mounted very bad, there was like a 2mm thick layer of thermal paste on the gpu, and the ramchips were covered with crappy tape. The DuOrb comes with ramsinks and vrm sinks. That's way better than some crappy tapejob....![]()

700/1000 is in the good average. My XFX 8800 GT would do 680/1000 with the stock bios. After editing my bios to have 1.1Vcore instead of stock 1.05V I can now reach the OC in my sig. I think I can improve the OC a bit more but I'm waiting to buy a better cooler for that.

Installed Accelero S1 with an Arctic Cooling 120mm Fan strapped onto it, on my eVGA 8800 GT.
Core Temps went from 90 C load to 50 C load. Idle went from ~70 C to 40 C, which is just above the ambient case temperature in my P182.
ATI Tool artifact free clocks went up from:
738/1728
to
777/1836
Memory I left at 950. I think I'm being capped by my Opteron 165 and Vista in Crysis Demo anyways, since I only got more 0.2 FPS in the GPU Benchmark.
But yeah, the Accelero S1 is definitely worth it.

my memory is not so good
i was doing 675 core/1674 shader (actual)/1000 mem and it was freezing in any game
then did 700/1674 shader (actual)/975 mem and still freezing and I was like man this card sucks
realized it was the memory
i can only do 950 stable for mem but once i figured that out i got core and shader flying with 1.1v bios vmod
725 core /1812 shader (1836 actual)/950 mem
just set it to that so maybe more
stock cooling around 65c load since it's cold in here with 75% fan

I manage to get my BFG 8800GT to run a 780 core, and 1900 shader and 1000mhz (actual ) on the memory. Not bad for stock BIOS.
Currently running an ES Black Ops with a Qx9650 under SS, and a variety of Crossfire combos, and a Biostar Tpower i45 with an E8500 (air) and a variety of Crossfire combos. Both with 2x1gb of Ballistix (DDR2/3 PC2/3 8500) FSP 350w/ Galaxy DXX 1000w PSU's.
