It felt a TON better than 680i did when it first came out. I dont think I hit one FSB hole during air or DI testing. Just about 460fsb on air without an insane ammont of effort. 45nm support + a refined bios with gtl adjustments....I'll take it .

Sounds good for a Nvidia chipset

But to be honest, for a modern highend chipset, 460 or even 480 MHz FSB are just not enough. Look how many 333MHz FSB CPUs are out there. To overclock them to the max with decent cooling, you would need a FSB that is closer to 600 than 500 MHz.

if 460 is possible without to much effort, then 530-540 should be possible with core 2 duo, right...?

why dont Intel release a XE core 2 duo!!!!

This is a next generation NVIDIA platform, not 680i.

"next generation" means nothing. Can be a completely new chipset, which is very unlinkely, or it can be 780i, whose existence is useless to deny, since the asus 780i mobo is already listed.

Or was it 790i? If it was 790i all 680i and 780i users would be screwed.

If it is a 780i reference board, then why is asus listing their 780i mobo as NOT Yorkfield compatible?
    Check this out:

For quad + NVIDIA chipset and not having to spend a week tuning gtl mods, I think it's great Olie. I have yet to go over 485fsb with yf on and p35 or x38 mobo either. Will be interesting to see the dual core performance.

There were no issues at all with fsb holes during tests. The board ran like a dream with yorkfield on DI. Yorkfield + 2900xt results are getting tired lol ...almost time to see what Yorkfield + ULTRA(S) can do. Been TOO long.

I think sometime next week. Check out some TRI stuff in 03 and 06 on air. Cpu is on DI in the 2006...it's strong in 06 :

    Almost 100k 2003 on Air

2001 isn't all that and I didnt bother with 2k5...so it looks like dual SLI is still relevent in some marks which is cool .

    @ K|ingp|n

I hope you can top the ORB with YF + (2) ultras in SLI. Doing it with 3-SLI would be great of course, but it wouldn't be fair to the other top scores, since none of them are running 3 vidcards.

Also, with 2 Ultras, you would be able to bench with XP PRO (current drivers, 169.21, are fast) and at the 30K score level, that means ~1500+ points. Vista is slow...

    Check out my comparision:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=169442

It would be cool, if you could post both scores (2-SLI and 3-SLI)
Then we could use the 2-SLI score, to compare against those CF top ones.

I bet you can beat the current 29.3K score in 3DMARK06.
