If I was Intel, I'd try very hard to tweak "something" in the next stepping at 45nm cpu in order to make their life harder on 7 series, such as lower performance compared to X38. Nothing personal, purely business.
This at least or "hopefully" will affect the SLI fever.
Luckily, I'm not Intel.
