So in a nutshell there seems to be HTT (base clock) walls in the 240s-260. Kazgirl, I take it you can't actually boot above your limit, as opposed to not stable?
    Hi,

Yes any attempt at changing anything in the BIOS causes POST failure needing a CLR CMOS.... I tried all sorts, must've CLR CMOS'd it at least 10 times already.....and its becoming a pain as I have to take out the gfx card to get to the jumper, every time I have to do it.....so I'm going to have to wait for a better BIOS from ASUS I think....

Just in case I downloaded the BIOS again today and re-flashed, just in case the original had some problem, but same thing is happening....

I would go mad if I had to clear cmos so many times....Though it's a lot easier with this mobo as it has a button for clear cmos. Very good engineering from MSI

Kazgirl(and all others Phenom owners),just one question about your Phenom sub par Game testing(compared to A64).
Did you by any chance try the Phenom X4 driver from AMD's website?Could have been that TSC of the cores are not in sync?
It's just a wild shot, but could be a good try .We need better BIOS and a better chipset drivers for 790FX.

    Good luck

    Hi, mrcmtl

yes, BIOS 1503, and M2N32SLI..... not good so far.....but at least it boots...though it took a CLR CMOS to do it the first time to clear my RAM settings.

    Hi Informal,

No actually I havn't tried that yet, I will try it, but I still think its more fundamental than that, as there seems to be issues with the RAM settings as well, as this BIOS doesn't recognise my RAM SLI Profiles, and it fails to POST when I try to set it manually....

But I'm going to try that driver now, to see if it helps at all.... thanks for the suggestion, I'm surprised I didn't think of it sooner myself, I'm always on the AMD Forums...... I think its because of the BIOS problems, until I can get the BIOS sorted, and get it to boot with RAM at the rated settings I've sort of given up on it.... waiting for a reply from ASUS about when they'll be getting a new BIOS.....

I'll let you know how it go's, though I'm not overly optimistic, even though its an excellent suggestion....
