yeah, an 80mm or 120mm fan on it should do the trick.
Now your clock got you 4 hours of P95 before failing, so either the chipset bogged down from heat or the CPU is just shy of the voltage needed.
You might have a crappy Q6600, just like one of mine, that needs a crap load of voltage to clock. But for a 3GHZ clock, should not be so, even with a crappy Q6600. I would look abit more at cooling.
