2,4V will always be to high for 24/7 operation imo. Maybe some chips/PCBs can cope with it for some time, but eventually they will die. Even though some vendors rate them at >2,3V I wouldn't go beyond that.
Have been doing the same run as nordien.
8x450 = 3.6k @1.40v
DDR 1080 5,5,5,12 2.175v
vMch 1.43v
vICH 1.12v
vICHIO 1.50v

kicked of last night. got back to see it still running with 16hrs up. played with skins in guru, went to open cpu-z ready for the pics.............. It Froze.![]()
Oh well re-running:![]()
@jcool yep especially as the vdimm lifts a bit when memory is under load ie large ffts. see MUltimeter Measurments 2) VDIMM I've found i can run mine quite comfortably at 2.175v which will be roughly 2.215v loaded, should be good for 24/7 use.

Hello guys, I'm planning on putting my system together tomorrow, any tips? What bios seems to be the best? I have a Q6600 GO on phase, patriot 1066 ram, 8800gtx. Thanks for the help and happy thanksgiving.
I think we're mostly running with the BTA 12. If you struggle to get it Pm me or one of the guys & we'll e-mail you it, or contact Abit support.

right, I came to the rig tonight after several days leaving it without power and I get this:
I have now tried to clear the CMOS 3 times and removed the RAM leaving a single DImm in slot 1 and it won't go any further, it doesn't even respond to the keyboard (F1 or Del)
Anyone know how to sort it ?
Final straw me thinks![]()

What were issues the Memory controller or other issues ??I flashed back to BIOS 11 due to several problems. Maybe its the beta bios.

Installing Win XP PRo to hopefully sort out graphics problems then maybe I can start to Overclock![]()

The memory controller. I had problems with my memory kit OCZ D9GMH and Kingston D9GKX. Also i had a couple of strange reboot issues while overclocking. Now im back to 11 again and the system whil recover from a bad OC flawlessy but the memory issues remain. I have to give 2.4v to get to DDR540 @ 4-5-4-15 or 2.4v for DDR550 @ 5-5-5-15. Anything above gives me bsod's. !

I'm hanging on this thread Im still on the fence whether to get this board. Its showing up now for a very reasonable price. But Im not 100% convinced yet on its reliability. Abit in the past haven't been overly kind to me when bios problems arise (thinking back to an old 478 mb i had which would cold boot all the time and they wouldn't do a damn thing about it)
Drive it like you stole it
Ok I take one step forward three back.
I sort the check sum error thing...install XP Pro and still the same performance with the 8800GT and the graphics interface, now the Nvidia sentinal warning thing pops up every log in stating the card has insufficuent power and has been throttled back for safety, so its not a driver issue its a hardware thing.
I have been in touch with enermax UK who have asked if there is the possibility of increasing the voltage to the PCI-E slot #1 ??
I am not aware of such an option in the bios.
I have tried changing the PCI clock [Frequency] upto 110 but it does nothing,
I have also increased the ICHIO voltage and nothing changes (what would be a reasonable level to set this too, just for the record?)
So, we are down to either the Graphics card, the Motherboard or the PSU ?
A lot of other people are having trrouble with the 8800GT & GTX cards and this nvidia sentinel warning, not sufficient power ! Very prevelant in Antec PSU owners. I guess it still could be a driver issue too.....great stuff![]()

Hi Ademcg,
sorry to hear about your troubles, it does seem to be card related. Most issues i've seen with PSU's are between the mobo/psu .I've not touched ICHIO from the default of 1.50v, your right there is no direct way to increase the PCI-E voltage. Though i have heard of people doing it indirectly by raising ICHIO.
I'm not sure if it has any relevence but there is the PCIE- Root Port Function in Bios (Advanced Chipset) I'm not sure what impact changing 1st item for slot 1 from has maybe changing it from auto to enabled may help
Edit:
Cheers Heidfirst![]()

I have just installed this board with my E6850 and 2x1GB OCZ Ti Alpha memory, I am getting a C1 boot error![]()
I tried only 1 stick in each slot, but it is always the same C1 error. Clearing CMOS does not help and at the moment I have no other ram to hand......
If I boot with no ram I get C1, which makes sense of course![]()
![]()
Any ideas? I know I need to try some other memory, but can C1 mean anything else, aside from memory detection error?
Cheers![]()
Try Removing Battery for a while. Leave cmos jumper on clear.
Replace battery & jumper & try with a single stick.
Set Vdimm to match your memory stick, save bios & add 2nd stick

OK I am trying that now, thanks
Fingers crossed I can get into the BIOS to bump the voltage and relax the timings.
Has anyone from OCZ been contacted regarding this? It seems there is an issue with this board and their sticks, one which a simple BIOS update may cure......
EDIT: I left it for half an hour, but it made no difference![]()

Thanks for the link
He was using OCZ PC8000 RAM too, but tried Kingston with the same results.......
In a way I hope it is a memory issue, as it is an easier fix than a DOA motherboard![]()
