Crysis running at 2560x1600 on very high

    What did I do?

    Read this http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_13.html

Put everything on high, then add the "very high on the cheap" commands to System.cfg or autoexec.cfg (either one needs to be created in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Config) or even in the target line of your shortcut. Select your native resolution, leave AA turned off (oooooobviously, FSAA kills anything in it's path)

You do not need SLI to run this smoothly. I do because of my behemoth resolution, but 1920x1200 should run just fine on a GTX or Ultra. 1680x1050 should be fine with a GT, and anything below its a walk in the park.

This is the best way to run Crysis folks. Hope you enjoy.

X2 4200+ @ 2600mhz with 4x512mb TCCE 2-3-3-6-2T @ 234mhz and X1950XTX at stock averages about 25fps playing through the demo.. have not run a benchmark on it yet.

1680x1050 all options left on medium.

All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.

    wow thats a nice res.

you should add this to a config, or just type in a console though to clean up the brush a bit

    useedgeaa 2

makes trees, grass much sharper, and doesnt hog frames.

20 fps region still way too slow to play it.

Also, the island level isn't as taxing as the trailing levels.

Youd be in the 10fps area after island is done.

This game is definitely GPU bound at higher resolutions.

with Ultra at stock and E6850 at 3.9 I was averaging 25+/-5 FPS with high settings at 1620x1200, AA off. Very playable, but little slow in some heavy fights.

Dropping my E6850 to 3.0, I might have lost 1 FPS average, or just my imagination, hard to call such small change.

OC'ed my Ultra to 712/1805/1150 (E6850 3.9). I was expecting only about 3-4 FPS gain, but increased to 33-35 FPS, sometimes up to 45, and no slowing in even larger fights.

Then added the very high settings for XP, (except turning off edge AA) and now back down to 26-28 FPS most of time. Wishing now I had flashed my core speed even little faster, still had some room on that, though memory if increase 2 more notches it artifacts.

i play it with everything on high with an overclocked X1900XTX at 1600X1200 and it plays very well. No AA is the trick, but with higher resolutions its not bad...

When you set AA to no-AA, the game automatically enables something called "edge-AA", which blurs all edges slightly, removing some the the jaggies... But it's no "true" AA... Still, it makes the picture far more pleasant than no AA at all...

Have most of you been running it on WinXP or Vista? Curious as I have both OSs installed on a dual-boot config and was wondering which one to load Crysis on. Thx.

lol w/ an x1600 i wouldnt say that

and 20+ fps doesnt look too bad in crysis at all... i was somewhere in that ballpark on the xp modded very high setting and the game looked just fine to me... the only part i was actually really stuttering at was at the very end on the ship.. jesus.. just craziness

My system runs in Vista.. at 1280x720 and between high and very high (shaders, water and textures if not mistaken are Very High) and get roughly 30FPS in most area's. Cut scenes are typically in the 20's, and that last scene... well 15-20FPS if I was lucky. On the ship deck it was in the mid to high 20's though.

Its a system killer, wish I could figure out why 64-bit doesn't run nicely on my system when trying Crysis out.
