Looking forward to seeing some tests, I'm currently holding off on my next w/c upgrade until I see some independent tests.

Eddy, you said earlier in this post that the block will have a majorbow to it?

Does that mean it will come with a bow, or it will be a change such as an oring as swiftech did.

I ask cause i want to remove my IHS off my cpu and a bowed block is not very good for IHS lesscpus...

Havn't tried that, but wouldn't you still be putting the mobo in bending moment between the standoffs?

I would think that would reduce the effect, but not be quite as effective as a good solid backplate that effectively provides the bending moment resistance and support directly behind the socket.

So there is no option of purchasing the block without the bow?

Just curious, why would you want it unbowed? Bowing improves performance on pretty much all dual/quad CPUs AFAIK, if you've still got a single core why would you be spending this much on a block?

That's just my take, seems kind of pointless to sell it un-bowed.

I ordered the EK Supreme yesterday. Eddy said it will ship on thursday and I will probably have it on monday or tuesday with jet-pak. Was going to buy the DDC top as well, but the shipping cost was to high this time (must wait for salary day on 25th...) Anyway, I will post some pictures when I get it.

That's just my take, seems kind of pointless to sell it un-bowed.

Because in the event that I am able to remove the IHS from my future processors I feel alot more comfortable having a flat block vs a bowed block on a naked core.

I work in a machine shop, so milling a step like niksub did in a waterblock isnt terribly difficult for me.

Losing 1-2C temps vs bowed wont kill me, if it really is that much of a deal I can adjust my fan speed to compensate and turn up my speakers or wear my headphones when I game.

My view on bowed vs unbowed is the same as most peoples is for 3/8 vs 1/2 tubing...

Sorry if I came across as an ass, 4am and Im tired from work.

Well if that is the problem then I do not think this block is something for you.
Just get a Fuzion and step it.
Or buy a copper top for your apogee. (isn't the base of a apogee the same as a GTX?)

block will come with only one plate, but Eddy assured me that there will be several different versions available separately, very cheap

    Thx.
I would have preferred paying a little extra for the block, but having the plates included, rather than ordering it right now and the plates a few days (or weeks) later.
How many versions of the plates will there be?

That's a good idea Jupiler, I would like for Eddy to make it optional to include extra plates or not, just like it's optional to buy it with or without barbs.

That way if someone buys the block and chooses the option of multiple plates he could test them one by one and decide which works better for him, I hope Eddy considers this option, that would be awesome

I tested around 10 different versions, aprox. 4 should be quite enough.
