    That's my upcoming GFX!
Hopefully nvidia know by then that shipping 25.000 cards around the globe ain't gonna work.
I do not want to wait another month before its restocked.

so if the ref. card is 650/970

then that would mean some brands will be much much higher overclocked out of the box? like maybe an XFX card?

The best XFX 8800 ULTRA was 675/1667/2300... and it was pre overclocked compared to 612/1500/2000 if Im correct.

NVidia's way of handling memory controllers is very simple. Rops are coupled in groups of 4, and every group has their own 64bit memory controller. Take the 8800GTX for example, 6 groups of 4, 6x64 = 384. GTS 640/320, 5 groups of 4, 5x64 = 320.... The G92 has a 256bit memory controller, meaning 16 rops(4 groups of 4, 4x64 = 256), unless NVidia COMPLETELY redesigned their memory controller setup, which is doubtful, seeing as how the 8800GT still follows the group of 4 math.

There is no way you're going to see 24 rops on this part. I'm sorry guys, but that's just the way it is.
    Yes, I agree with you.

    I think, 8800GTS 512MB has 128 SP, 64 TMUs, 16 ROPs.

I think some people are still in "G80 mode". I have no doubt it would be 64 texture units, because that's how the G92 chip is laid out.

I'm not sure what's first word that comes to your mind when you see this card, but in my case is one "Ugly" card.
It's because of shape of cooler. Though it might be The Ugly Duckling once you start Crysis

It only looks ugly because the sticker is not on it .

I think it actually looks almost identical to the 8800GTS cooler without the holes at the ends by the exit for the air.

I don't think it's ugly. Then again, I don't care what the innards of a computer look like.
Be it a pink strawberry-flavored PCB or a black PCB with sleek HSF, I don't care.

Luckily there's always the option of aftermarket coolers.

I think this will pair up perfect with my MCW60 . I was hoping to do HD 3870, but it wasn't good enough for me to sell my 8800GTS. So I guess I will be on a 8400GS and with no games until this thing comes out.

Looks like it also uses the similiar silent fan as on G80 cards which is a welcomed feature. 8800GT at 50~60%+ is getting a bit loud. The stock cooler should provide decent temperatures being a 65nm card. If I'd pick a 8800GT I would also have bought Zalman VF900-CU to get nice performance & noise lvl which costs like 28 EUR here which adds up to the price a bit. With 8800GTS G92 it seems I won't have to swap cooler. I agree about the cooler design looks fugly both due to shape and type of surface, it had looked quite a lot nicer with a shiny pitchblack mirrorlike surface but then again I only care about performance of the components, not looks.

Nice, first nVidia release 8800GT and everybody goes mad with the uber perfomance and in less than one month 8800GTS rev is on the track and will make those who bought 8800GT bang their heads in the wall.

That's the results of non-competitive products from ATI,the worst are yet to come

I've never looked into EVGA's step up programme but does it only apply to americans or is it also available for european customers? With releases like these it sure becomes useful.

Dont they still make agp cards?

Uhm...did you even think about what you wrote?

    Lets see...8800GT 250$, 8800GTS 300$.

Why would I bang my head against the wall?

You do know price segmentation? Perhaps I didnt want to spend another 50$ for alittle more performance. I even think the 50$ more is a higher percentage than the actually performance gained.

In short...you make zero sense. Else we should all bang our heads against the wall if we didnt all own QX9650/8800Ultra or something.
