Newegg isn't price gouging for once!

oh man im so tempted becuase i have Gears of War on the way and my 7900gs probably wont cut it.

but i think ill wait till after xmas and see whats out then.

does the 3850 and 3870 have the same core?

so if there is a 512mb 3850 version wouldnt that be the way to go?
because single slot cooler i think is better.

it will be interesting to see when they come out with new cataylst drivers how well they will preform.

Now that's more like it tbh.

Still think they should be arround £130-£135 for me to buy 2.

£270 for better than 8800GTX performance @ £300+ price mark cannot be bad.
If drivers permitting is a great deal.

What's nice about getting the Sapphire card at Newegg,
as opposed to the Diamond & HIS models they are selling,
is the Sapphire for some reason has a 30-Day Replacement/
30-Day Refund, while the other two can only be returned
    for Replacement, No Refund.

at least they are comming back in stock. UK is still waiting for the full avilablity of all makers HIS is the only to reach our shores.

I think its nice that no matter what card you chose you get Call Of Juarez with it. Looking at Gigabyte they are doing Never Winter Nights 2 as well for the same price as others. ASUS is offcourse is the most expesive which i never get why.

The gap, which imho isn't that bad, will close with some better drivers. Also, regardless of which system I decide to build, whether Intel or AMD, I will not want a Nvidia chipset. I plan on going with 2-3 cards and the cross-fire solution is much better atm. Toss in the lower cost and availability, and imho its a no brainer.

Let me break it down here, this is my opinion..........

Lets say you do go with the ATi choice, 2x 3870 crossfire, cost is $500 with shipping..............you have $500 worth of Video cards that cannot play some games that were released some time ago at high resolutions with AA/AF....World in Conflict and Crysis.........now the smart thing would be to skip crossfire and get a single card now and wait for january for 2x 3870x2 for quad crossfire, this will give much better results...........now the smartest thing to do now, if you need a video card is to wait and get the 8800gt for a single card setup intill next year, because the $500 you just spent on those 2 video card will be worthless come mid next year.....bad investment......best thing is if you really have to save money, go for 1 3870, if not then 8800GT does come out on top in every single benchmark period. this is all IMO.
