Exclamation We want a D5 Vario mod top...NOW!! Listen up fokes

Okay you cowerdly lot, you know i speak my mind and give very little though so im going to be the one to make the ball move! I hope

We want a custom modded top for the D5 like Petra, EK, XPCS etc etc have all done for the DDC.

So who's going to make it first?

    What we want.......

    • Derlin
    • G1/4'' thread
    • 6 ports total, 3 ether side
    • Smaller than the current so pump is smalled all over, no need for fancy stuff
    • Better inlet
    • Ported in the inside to allow more flow and presure
    • Cheap

Them that use this pump or wants one add what you want!

Now all you DDC top makers, let the race comence as i have a D5 coming and it's going in the lazer render at work to be scanned into CAD! Then i can go and make mine no problems

If you want the file once done sure but it will cost you 4 tops once they go into production!

This is a far better pump than the DDC, how many have died....?

Give us what we want and what is a better pump over all please for the love of god.

Before anyone open there trap and goes oo Koolance makes one blah blah, shut it! It's aluminum, it's crap, it's ugly and sorry whos it made by again (don't answer). Though we can rip it off no problems and make it better! Heheheh

This is what the forbiden kit looks like, see dead easy

Yes i know this post is strong, yes i know im being direct and harsh. Am i sorry....

    Pete

6 ports? Why the heck would you need 6 ports? One inlet and one outlet would be fine. Don't know how you'd put multiple ports on anyway without making it a flow killer like those weird ports are on the k*****ce top (cuss word starred out )

Yeah, I've been hoping someone would make one also.

I don't really care about the port flexibily of the Koolance version, I just want one that performs better than stock and is made from something other than aluminum or acrylic.

Lexan or acetal/delrin would be perfect

I think you will get one before anyone. Im gonna order my pump off you. CAD/CAM guy at work said he will take 24 hours to do it and let it do it over night.

If you do it, then get a pre order thing going with depostie then all aveingues are covered

I want it, bad. I think the K________ one IS dead sexy, except for the recycled coke can material. Delrin, Lexan, Corningware...I don't care as long as it is better than the crappy one that the pump comes with.

I'd be willing to put down a deposit on one.

Edit: +2 (or maybe 1, depending on price)

I'm not really fussed, I'm happy with my D5 - it is reliable, powerful and reasonably quiet. Why would anyone want to mess with that?

    I suppose that's a decent reason.

I think the reason no one made a D5 'top' is because it already uses 1/2" barbs, whereas the DDC uses 3/8" and most users prefer 1/2" so buying a top is necessary.

    I'm already using a D5 in a 3/8" loop.

3/8" tubing over 1/2" barbs FTW!

I could make one on my lathe and mill, but I'm just one guy in a garage and all manual. It's probably a half a day type project with a manual lathe/mill.

I think the need for this is large enough that someone with mass production capabilities would really do well here and be able to keep prices down low.

I still might make one for myself, but that would be just because I want a one of a kind custom...

Doing this kind of top manually would be a real nightmare... A CNC machine is a blessing in this kind of stuff.

I'm amazed anyone wants one. Every single failed DDC I've seen used a custom top. I think I've seen one failed D5 EVER (D5 outsells DDC/DDC+/DDC Ultra or w/e DDC revision by about 5:1 at my shop) IMO we should let the experts at Laing decide what top is best for their pump...\

    But this IS extreme.... :p

12 people is hardly mass production quantities d00d... you need to be talking hundreds or more to get it down to "reasonable" price whilst keeping it worthwhile for the person doing the making...

Well you can put me down for a sale! I'd buy it!

For now I just did the Martin - Dremel mod to make the Port smooth as possible to remove that Plastic Lip! "Dunno if it is making much difference, but if it's good enough for Martin, then it's good enough for me!" (as I follow him lemming'ly like off a cliff) just teasing!

    Custom Top FTW!

    Per Pete's Request:

I will take 2ea custom Tops!
