Good luck with it, doubt you'll get too much better score, those BQ's coldbug like hell... and he was already at 1.77v/8c or something But if you go for it, I'm sure you'll make it

    I see you're 2nd, btw.

Ahhh, damn 170's, only Opty DC i don't own but i THINk I bought one with the same stepping a while back... not 100% sure, though (haha!).

PS: Do you know that there were about 5 or 6 0626FPMW's that neither of us grabbed when they were sold on ebay??

For the first time as we saw the 0626 fpmw gianni and I tested some of this and after that we decided that this stepping can´t be a record stepping. But now we have to change our opinion....

Yes, I´m second with an 0550 VPMW Opteron 170 ---> terrible cold bug at 200 mhz htt I could only boot with more voltage and prime freezed around 2.7 ghz

If the record with the new Opteron 170 won´t fall with single stage I will test it with an boxed cooler and the single stage above This should be the key.

Why no use an aluminium paper between IHS and Evap? That should really give you bad temps

I tested some plates of alu and this gave me not the temps I was seeking. After a few minutes I get the same temps like without the alu.

"Don´t use thermal paste" didn´t do anything...you can forget that. I even have better temps without that as with that.

"Don´t mount the evap so hard" is also bad because during the boo issue the cpu will make more heat than in windows and sometimes the pc shut down because of too much heat.

I tested many of that tweaks but it never brought me the right temps

There are a million ways of getting higher temps You can try to put a TINY piece of neoprene on the centre of the IHS before you mount the evap.

I have a few friends in the US and in Germany, when I buy stuff I just ask the sellers to send to one of them, so I cna save a little postage expenses. Especially Germany --> Norway is horribly expensive, 30 euro for a package! But only like 5 euro for shipping within Germany so...
