    Thanks Antari

I started to doubt about the P5K deluxe... but then i realize is the batch, week or luck...

primed vcore=1,5 (450x8) 3 minutes one core failed
primed vcore=1,5 (400x9) 10 minues one core failed

I tested lots of configs, ram separate, then drop it to DDR2 800, well days testing with no luck, needs more vcore

I think i will need 1,525 to stable...

And the last one that killed me was to see that hole between (464x7) and (490x7) i was expecting to do 3,4Ghz at least with (x7) but very unstable and then when i could boot, loose the cores....

    So....

    Thanks for all
    Best regards
    Sergio

    q6600

Well last night i did an OC session to test if i can get it Prime95 stable under vcore=1,5

    I tried the RLM settings:

    ************************************************** *******
    JumperFree Configuration Settings
    AI Overclocking: Manual
    CPU Ratio Control: Manual
    - Ratio CMOS Setting: 8
    FSB Frequency: 445
    PCI-E Frequency: 100
    DRAM Frequency: DDR2 1113
    DRAM Command Rate: 2T
    DRAM Timing Control: Manual
    CAS# Latency: 5
    RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
    RAS# Precharge: 4
    RAS# Activate to Precharge: 9
    TWR: AUTO
    TRFC: AUTO
    TWTR: AUTO
    TRRD: AUTO
    TRTP: AUTO
    DRAM Static Read Control: Enabled

    Transaction Booster: Enabled
    Clock Over-Charging Mode: AUTO

    CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled
    PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled

    CPU Voltage: 1.475v
    CPU Voltage Reference: x0.63
    CPU Voltage Damper: Enabled
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.60
    DRAM Voltage: 2.20
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.20
    North Bridge Voltage: 1.25
    North Bridge Voltage Reference: x0.67
    South Bridge Voltage: 1.05

    Advance CPU Settings
    CPU Ratio Control: Manual
    - Ratio CMOS Setting: 9
    C1E Suppport: Disabled
    Max CPUID Value Limit: Disabled
    Vanderpool Technology: Disabled
    CPU TM Function: Disabled
    Execute Disable Bit: Enabled
    PECI: Disabled

    USB Configuration
    USB Functions: Enabled
    Legacy USB Support: Disabled

    ************************************************** *******

With this settings i made it stable, tried 446 and failed after 10min...so that indicates that it needs more vcore, no matter the other settings, just vcore seems to make it Prime95 stable...

    I also tried with this:

    ************************************************** *******

    CPU Voltage: 1.475v
    CPU Voltage Reference: AUTO
    CPU Voltage Damper: Enabled
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.60
    DRAM Voltage: 2.20
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.4
    North Bridge Voltage: 1.4
    North Bridge Voltage Reference: AUTO
    South Bridge Voltage: AUTO

    ************************************************** *******

But same situation, I can go up if i don't raise vcore

    Some observations I made:

Cores IDLE, the first 2 ones have no difference in temps, the third has like 7C difference...and 4th has 2C. At full load the difference is like 4 or 5..I had the CPU lapped and happened almost the same before i did the lapping...Maybe it's the Big Typhoon push pins that are not fitting well or maybe the CPU it's just like that....I also applied the AS5 spreading with a card, i don't knwow if the AS5 is the best method...the one on AS web site...

    Any help will be appreciated
    Regards

Yes I have the same... except my 4th core is only 1 or 2°C hotter than the third.

When you say fails prime, small ftt or blend?

maybe try setting trtp to 8, seem to remember that coming into play for someone else over on i4memory.com.

Also the other auto settings. I would have a look at what memset is reading, and maybe try loosening up some of these. Like twtr, write to precharge etc.

I've had situations on the DFI where small ftt ran a lot longer than blend, indicating memory was causing the problem.

probably way off, but just a longshot.

I tried to figure out if it was memory but i also run the test lowering the crucials to ddr2800 and same situation...

I was testing small fft's i always start on that...

I still can't belive i saw others with the same batch taking it up to 3,6 with 1,4 prime95 stable....same asus p5k deluxe

Edit: Posting, same time as you posting last comment on 603, so missed that. Maybe ignore the following

    andressergio,

Just looked at your sig and it says bios 311. Is that the bios you are using?

If it is then maybe that's contributing to the problems you're having.

I was late to the game with the P5K deluxe, so can't comment fully as haven't used the older bios's. I'm currently on 601, which has been great so far.

Note: Updated through ezflash and a usb disk.

I tried ALL bios..same failure at same time always...I think i just tried all unless some magic combination can make it prime95 stable...i think is the batch...

Same with this new one and also strange temps reported as i posted before, also less performance, i had all bioses tested on everest and stored...311 still performs better

I never updated on windows always used an external notebook usb hd

    Thanks

With my L723A I had to ONLY change voltage settings for CPU to 1.48 ( i think) and I run my ballistix 8000 4X1 sticks at 2.3 to 2.35 I have a fan blowing across them from the side, and I got 3.6 on the CPU. It has a vid of only 1.200! but it will eventually fail prime above that at ANY voltage.
I was beginning to suspect the board, but I got a L731A that does 3.9 easy.
so I would say the L723A's max out around 3.6.. Also i ran my mem at 5-5-5-15 with no other mem settings changed. Could you try a beefier power supply?

Also I am using 505 bios, works good for me, so sticking with it for now.

    Thanks Nostromo !

I think that the PSU is enough, if i can grab hands on another i will, but as you say i think is this batch

Why u use such high vdimm ?

I run mine at 2,2 max for 24/7...at wich speed you have them ?

Alright, I just got my board back from Asus, and its a newer revision than my previous board. It says 1.01g now instead of 1.00g. I believe it also has the 601 bios already installed, but ill probably update that to the official 603 bios when I get it installed. Im quite impressed, they got it out to me extremely fast. Asus FTW

leoftw, I guess it would be an idea to state where you are.

What's the finding on 0603 then? I gather there's different temp readings, but anything positive over 0601?

I can't load windows with 603 bios . I tried every setting in bios . Default was a no go also . It just gives me a BSOD while loading .
Memtest DOS doesn't show any errors .
So , back to 601 for me .
