Memory performance is the best thing with this board, I can't believe I'm able to push 4-4-4-9 with such ease!
Yeah, I love it, I'm always happy for a challenge, and a board that refuses to show it's full potential straight away is ok in my book! But showing the potential at SOME point is crucial!!!!

If the next bios release doesn't fix the various issues, I'm RMAing for a Quad GT X38!

Although hopefully the next bios should be quite good, seeing as the time between this and the last (0701, 0702 hasn't officially been released) is much longer than previous bios revisions! Overclocking of 0401 and stability and sensor reading and timings of 0701, anyone?

Woah, your FSB Termination levels are a bit steep? You sure it needs to be that high at only 423 FSB?

Ok everything 'apart' from my RAID-0 array seems to be stable. Going to try a tiny OC of the SB and up the NB and FSB a tiny bit to see if it stabilizes.

Edit: Scratch that, it was the POS Intel Matrix Storage drivers causing timeout issues

    Your welcome,

I would try to see what your kit can do it might be better than mine, I am using OCZ Reaper 9200 and it's great runs @ 1000 4-4-4-12 the rest on Auto
or 1200+ @ 5-5-5-17 reat on Auto, so the OCZ Reapers do work well with this motherboard for sure, I have the RAM for only for one week so I'm still learning might be more to come.

It's obviously dependent on your ambient temps and cooling solution.

The reason for crash is DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Is this possibly related to the BIOS EHCI Hand-off feature? or a hardware conflict of some kind?
I had this early on. The exact driver error was "usbuhci.sys" and it was due to my memory getting toasty. Put an extra 90 mm fan over the RAM, voila, problem solved.

The other option would be to loosen your RAM timings and watch your voltages.

ty for the refresh on my FSBT. It was from when I was tring to get 440x9 to be stable. Back to 1.47 FSBT now. As before I'm going to stay here until next BIOS release. Then I'll work on getting 440x9+ working.

np, I did the same when I was first testing out, left the FSBT very high and then realised it worked fine at 1.40v
When the next BIOS release comes I will be aiming for much the same.. at the very least 440x9 stable, and then 450x9.

Hey Loco/Raj I cooled my chipset with water and it does indeed seem to help.
I am able to run a useable 470x9 Q6600 G0 with CPU under phase and chipset cooled.

Still playing around and my volts on the NB are a bit high but I suspect I can get 480 to bench ok....

Edit: This is great, now Intel suddenly released a brand new driver to fix most of the issues with RAID and Vista! good timing eh?
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...4&submit=Go%21

I just tested it out and now my installation is working better.

I originally thought it got rid of the issue completely but it would appear that it still happens from time to time, even after deleting the Parameters registry info for iaStor(v).

Anyone here trying to also install Vista onto ICH9R RAID-0 setup? I'm thinking the latest Intel Matrix Storage drivers are problematic because I slipstreamed my ISO with the latest 7.6 release using vLite and I seem to be experiencing iaStor and iaStor0 time out issues, causing BSOD's and all the rest.

It seems this problem is not limited to the ICH9R controller either, lots of people are in the same situation.

    See here: http://www.flyingnerd.com/intel-raid...windows-vista/

There are a few other interesting articles relating to this also.

Guess this was the reason for me thinking that my OC was being bottlenecked by temps, but I can see now that it was the f£$%ing sh!7 Intel drivers. haha.

Oh well, it's good to know there is a fix at least... I'll post tomorrow if it is successful, gonna quickly re-install my borked Vista.

GAR I haven't seen the P95 loading issue. I've gone to 1.535x vCore. I had to use the crappy thermal compound as I can't find my AS5 for my 120Extreme and I think it is part of the reason it is hitting almost 80* with 1.535.

I installed Vista64 MSDN version that I d/led from microsoft on a 3 disK RAID 0 array with zero problems. (other than it seeming to hang at points for way longer than it should have) Then I ran the install all from the ASUS CD and then updated everything with the latest drivers after that including matrix storage manager.

Are you installed from a SATA Drive? If so use a IDE drive. That seems to be the most common element with vista install issues.

If you're using the latest Intel Matrix Storage drivers then everything will be perfect. Glad to see Intel got round to fixing this one, even though the problem seems to have been around since March.

Ok this is pretty close to my max bootable FSB with the blackpearl and this particular CPU:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=267456

BlackPearl could boot at 484 but that was about it...

Didn't know about this issue and I've been running RAID10 on both this board and a P5K-D w/o any errors or flags in event viewer. I also ran RAID0 on a P5K-D for a few months w/0 seeing any timeout issues. Was this just an issue w/ specific hard drives?

I believe so, this wasn't a completely universal problem. I never had the issue when I was using ICH7R so it is either a 7.6 release related, or certain conditions need to be met with the hardware for the timeouts to occur. This could be anything from HD models, SATA cables and specific revisions of the ICHx BIOS/Controller that create the problem. My bet is on the latter.

Anyone have to increase vCore on 0701? I am guessing some of the BSODs I have gotten are regarding the RAM changes; I am still checking them to see whats up.
