You can overclock quad cores much better with this board than the p5w dh deluxe. When the p5w dh deluxe came out last year there weren't any quad cores out yet so the maximus is better optimized towards the current processors. When I had the p5w dh deluxe I could only overclock the q6600 to around 9x360 with watercooling but with the maximus I could do 9x400 on air (tuniq) easy (didn't test for stability yet though). Thats actually the speed I set it at on the first boot without tweaking voltages lol.
