    Getting...

    CMOS Ckecksum Bad
    Press F1 to run setup
    Press F2 to load default

Hitting F1 or F2, clearing cmos and removing battery has no affect and cannot get into bios at all

Swapped out both sticks of ram, ran one stick and both, no affect

    Hardware in my signature

    Anyone know what's wrong ?

    "CMOS Ckecksum Bad"

Don't you get that the first time you startup the MB with unset BIOS? Still tells you that after loading default and saving/exiting? Tried updating to 0505 BIOS?

You can get into the BIOS right? Go to Tools-ASUS EZ Flash 2.Page 4-38 of the manual. I would guess you just need the BIOS file on a floppy.

Hi, thanks Langley, I'll give that a try when I get home. Not holding my breath though as I've tried different settings yesterday and I only managed to boot into Vista for 5 mins before it bsod'd on me..

for my 3.825? it's 425 x 9, i started with the voltages in the high "normal" range that the user guide suggested and then just moved them back from there till it became unstable and went back to the last known stable setting. dram voltage is 2.0*. my ram is 4-4-4-12 with a 1:1 divider. everyboard seems to be reacting different. i can't seem to get too far with the FSB for some reason. tried everything that i can think of as well as others thoughts. i'm waiting for a better bios now. i'd like to get a nice solid 4.*** cpu clock with my 4 gig's of ram in there. we'll see what the future has in store shortly.

Is there any benefit of enabling trans action booster over static read control,

If I disable it on my board I can run 450FSB ( 450 x 8 ) with less than 1.4 NB volts (prime stable), I seem to remember from my P5K Dlx that some users had equal ram bandwith with static read control enabled and transaction booster disabled...

    Any input on that ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I would leave them disabled, they are only a stability annoyance.

400FSB here now with 1002 on the ram works fine here, transaction booster disabled and static read control on auto... NB at 1.3 volts, ram at 1.90 set gives about 2 volts they need according the bios readout...

Gonna try to get the heatpipe structure off, Nb temps at 49°C now SB at 52°C, hope to squeeze a few degrees off...

Are you sure your CPU only need 1.36 Vcore for 3.6ghz ?, have you tried with an 8X to rule out the CPU Vcore...
