When you said "...everything" it is probably safe to assume you removed and replaced the cpu as well? Should that not work...I'm not sure I can help. According to the thread I linked to many have overcome the cpu init problem.

I would suggest the method where it recommends that you leave the battery out for 12+ hours.

Hopefully that will help. I feel your pain as it sucks when hardware doesn't perform as expected.

Thanks for the help don't get me wrong. But that's the method I used to get the CPU INIT bug ay back long ago when I first got the board.

What's driving me bonkers is the flashing screen, which again I've never seen before.

I've beat this bug on my board many times, and on several friends build, but never hit that.

Might just be worth it to cut the losses and wait for 780i
