    thanks guys
compliments from admirable benchers are most welcome and mean a lot to us

we'll do our best to keep up with some of the teams here who are exceptionally strong. We are still trying to "make friends" with the right people regarding LN2 supply and pricing....this is our biggest hurdle and it seems that a couple of things have happened since we announced the team which look good already

    For instance, Moonman had 80k+ score on a 4.56GHz C2D E6700 & 8800GTS @ 751/1053: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9239093
tiborrr its only the 320Mb card, the above score might have been a 640mb card. THe score i entered was number 6 on hwbot, so no bad for no vmods. Vmods and some more tweaks and it would have done alot better.

kayl: Yes it was 640MB card although memory doesnt play great role in 2k1, sometimes 320MB edition is even faster due to lower density of memory chips (mem controller has to address half less memory than on 640MB card) and lower latencies of memory.

Is your GPU A2 or A3 batch? With cooling abilities you guys have there you should mod that video card, tune the LOD appropriatelly and try to hit 85k+. I just wish i had variety of cooling you guys have there... :/

Must have been jolly good time anyway!

Had so much fun at the event, and like most of us i've had little chance to jump online let alone post any results. Spending this week back in Adelaide with the family so not much time for computers.
But here you go, one of our proudest moments from the weekend:

    Team.AU
    20,040 3DMark'06 Single Card

    Pro, SLi_dog, T_M

    QX6850 retail 0724 - k|ngp|n's F1
    XFX 8800 Ultra retail (vGPU/vMem - no OVP mod) - kayl's semi-solid
    Gigabyte X38T-DQ6 (no mods!)
Team Xtreem DDR3 (cant remember specs sorry)
    CoolerMaster 1000W
    Western Digital Raptor

PS - whoever said the F1 pot hold down system wouldnt ice up must be joking!

Load temps on both pots were amazing, the F1 holding the CPU at about -70C base and kayl great GPU tube a respectable -62C!
We were limited only by vid OVP, but 940MHz is crazy for DICE

I'll have much more material to post later, RL is calling me for this week

Also, bl to pro on getting those 2900XT's stolen the day before atomic live, im sure they would have given epic results.

yeah it really sucked having the cards stolen, vmodded, insulated, ready to go!

oh well insurance has given me two new cards that look like they are fairly reasonable =)

Following the Atomic Live event on Saturday, the team made our way in a van up to Moloko's garage for a Sunday of beers and Yorkfield fun and games

After much buggering around with the buggy chip and various configurations of cooling, for 3DMark06 testing we settled on DICE for both CPU and GPU.
We didnt tweak very much at all, as we were running out of time and people were getting restless.

    Team.AU
    20,211 3DMark'06 Single Card

    #2 in hwbot rankings

QX9650 ES - Kayl Frozen Cascade
    XFX 8800 Ultra retail (vGPU/vMem - no OVP mod) - kayl's semi-solid
Gigabyte X38T-DQ6 (no volt mods! only vcore read and a very dodgy cap replacement after i broke one off the board)
Cellshock DDR3 (cant remember specs sorry)
    CoolerMaster 1000W
    Western Digital Raptor

We were limited only by vid OVP and a buggy CPU/mobo combi, but 940MHz is crazy for DICE

a few might want to see this,

we accidently pushed this cap off the board trying to remove the ultra, thinking it was pci-e retention mechanism,

we needed the board then and there, so we quickly attached the cap with what we had handy, seemed to work well

Oops, seems i made a mistake about the cooling we used for the Yorkfield in the 20,211 score above.
Went back thru my photos and found this video of the run:

I've editted my post above to read Kayl Frozen Cascade as the CPU cooler.

Heh heh, yeah that was a bit of a "WTF? Panic!" moment. Good job on soldering it back on by the way

That's got to be one of the most ghetto mods I've ever seen and it worked great. It still cracks me up

Was going to attempt at catching Hipro's 21K score last night, but suffered another motherboard failure on the mosfets yet again
Now ive no DDR3 board worth using and will have to go shopping tomorrow.

Totally stock board aside from stupid mosfet cooler (the small one with pins) removed and Crazycool also removed.
vCore read was soldered onto the rear side at the choke leg.
Failure occured while idling/posting, so load wasnt the issue.
