Yeah I had this issue when I first got my board...everything was whacked out, could not get it stable, then I pushed an overclock, and the board reset itself after "CMAS CHECKSUM BAD".

I think you'll have no luck, Majoram, until you see as I did. You may also want to try just two GB of ram...whether it's one stick or two doesn't matter, IMHO.
