    i have this:

    Q6600 (G0) with Noctua NH-U12F
    2GB Crucial BallistiX PC8500

if i try to set the volt manually, i get a cold boot, and if the machine start, it wont let me in to windows..

i want to clock!! i have tried to set some other voltages, and thats no problem, but as soon as i touch the vcore it wont start/go to windows.

if the speed is stock (2400mhz) and i set the volt to 1.3, it starts, but if i try 356 or 378x9 and volt to 1.37/1.42 it wont start..

    please help me out someone..

i want to get a stable 3.4mhz run.. i am now ruinning 3ghz with vcore on auto

    have 0505 BIOS
I think 356 or 378x9 is not possible. Isn't the multi. maxed at like 8 without having a extreme c2d? Also make sure your not pushing you RAM to far. Might need to set it back to DDR 667 (1:1)

Very nice CPU speed. Just wondering why your 06 score is lower than mine with an LC Q6600 at 4050mhz on the DFI LP UT? And my cards are stock

Anyone have a problem where sometimes on a reboot, the BIOS overclock will say it failed, even though its been Prime95 stable and everything?

quick question those temp sensonrs on the board it self, what temp do they get?? the book just says temp sensor #1,2,3 but it doesnt specify if it give you the cpu or vga temp...

yea that happens at times for me too, i've had the board about 2 weeks and its happened about 4 times..
but it only happens when I do a restart from vista, never from a cold boot
when does it happen for you?

Yes, it's happened to me several times and all the settings were lost. I had to set the BIOS all over again.

Yup same issue- Had it once only, raised my dram voltage and hasnt happened since..

I hvaea really NEWB question for you guys, Im use to deleting my Drivers and cleaning them with a sweeper in Safe Mode- but on this Motherboard it seems the F key for Safe mode is gone, how do You guys enter safe mode??

Btw, Im now running my E6850 and Crucial DDR2 1066 2GB Ram @ 3.84 and DDR2-1140 8 hours orthos stable.

No hiccups here. I then oc'd my 8800 ultra to 678/1152, I went up to 678/1161 and it worked fine on any benchmark and games, but I got some artifacts when I played Crysis- So i backed down and it went away, guess that was the limit for the card, any higher and im sure id see the polygon artifacting in any game, Which is good- I know its a safe OC now! the GPU temps on this board ARE MUCH MUCH lower than my Last P5K- At full load with the OC I get up to 75 max, whereas the P5K was at 82.

Prolly due to less heatoutput from the mobo itself, I really like the Formula, though I cannot run the settings some of you do... the board keeps rebooting itself then before entering windows... I iwll do more testing this week to find out as I know they are memory settings related again
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Yep restart from Vista, results in a failed overclock type error.

    BIOS problem? Or board itself...

hope this helps you guys out...honestly this freakin board is rock solid @ these settings i honestly have never had such ease of overclocking a cpu than with this mobo and as bios updates come out it will only get better!!! i seriously love my desicion to buy this thing!!! with my 680 i i couldnt even get over 3.45 with this same cpu...honestly amazing!!

edit my memory divider is 5:6 according to cpuz
OK Im running my X3220 (or Q6600 if u want) stable now at 3.8Ghz. I have 2GB OCZ Reaper PC9200 at the moment, two more sticks on the way.
BIOS settings (the ones I recall at least):
    CPU multi - 9
    FSB strap - auto
    FSB - 423
    DDR2 - 846 (1:1)
    Command rate: auto

    ddr2 controller: auto
    sb 1.5: auto

    pcie spread: disabled

I trie djust about everything, but 3.8Gz is the highest I can get stable in P95. I was able to boot at 4.1Ghz but it crashed once I started P95. I might be able to reach higher if I really crank the vcore voltage, but Id rather not. How high is it safe to go?

CPU core load temps are from 66-71C under load, 30s when idling. NB and SB temps under load are 42 and 44 respectively.
    My cooling:
    Dual 5.25" bay reservoir
    Loop 1 (7.16"tubing): res -> MCP655 -> PA 120.2 -> STORM -> res
    Loop 2 (3.8" tubing): res -> MCP350 -> MCR220 -> Fusion block -> DD 8800GTX block -> res

Can post pics/screens if anyonw wants.

    And this board rocks!

Anyone having an issue trying to start in safe mode? When I press F8 I do not get any screens allowing me to select safe mode. Using Vista Ultimate by the way.

USB, and I realized that I had legacy support turned off and now it works with it turned back on.

I've noticed that all of a sudden my vcore won't change. No matter what I set it on, the bios shows 1.467 and so does sandra and cpuz, with no fluctuation whatsoever no matter if I set it to 1.40 or 1.55 or anything in between.

    -edit-
I reset the bios and was able to fix the vcore problem.

    Are these Normal temps?

    Hey all,

I just installed my board on Friday and did some testing and I'm not sure if my temps are good or not. The alarms for ASUS Probe II keep going off and warning me.

Would appreciate it if someone can comment on them:

    Under full Load:
    MB 39 deg C
    NB 52 deg C
    SB 46 deg C

    CPU temps:
ASUS Probe => 25 idle and 39? load
Core Temp => 35 idle and 50 load

Is this good? No overclocking yet and I get some alarms for mem voltage but I forgot to write those down.

The temps above are after running Prime 95 and SuperPI (32M -> one for each core).

    My Specs are:
    Mobo: ASUS Maximus Formula SE
BIOS: Version 0505. All default. No changes.
    RAM: 4 x 1GB PC8500 Crucial Ballistix
    CPU: Intel Quad Core Q6600
CPU cooling: ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme (Dual Fans).
    Video: eVGA 8800 Ultra
Case: Antec P180. Top and Rear fans set to exhaust. Front set to intake.
    OS: XP Professional 32bit

So far the system is stable unless I run a game or anything 3D (another question for later).
I've run Prime95 for about 10 hours and it's been stable.
Memtest ran for a couple hours stable as well.

    So 2 questions for now:
    1) what do you think about my temps?
    2) unrelated: Which memtest does everyone use? I've found 2 versions
    - http://www.memtest86.com/ Memtest86 3.3 Release
    - http://www.memtest.org/ Memtest86+ 1.7
