What is the temperature at 3.2GHz? Does this chip run much cooler than the conroe at the same speed?

are you sure you heard january for the QX9650???...it thought it was suppose to be mid november for the QX9650.

Wow that stepping is really weak and not impressive at all, I really hope that the rest turn out to be better. Although I would still take one and mess around with it HA.

    Thanks for sharing.

5279 for a CPU score in 3dmark06 at a mere 3.2GHz looks good to me. Of course that's from the perspective of a Vista user :p

This time I am going to treat myself and go QX9650.

All the tools, Coretemp, Everest and so on, don't work with this stepping of the cpu. So i don't know the real temparture.

It's not like the Conroe days where Intel needs chips leaking all over the place, they have the performance lead so there is no need for ES chips to work their way around.

Cool, that beats my best effort 1M run at 3.6GHz with Conroe E6600.

At 3.6GHz this York must do some high 12ish seconds i presume...not bad.

Well due to the low multi I thinnk it's not that bad at all, 8 multi will be required to reach the clocks most of us get with our Q6600's...

Would be nice to see some clock comparison eg at 7 x 450 between this baby and my Q6600 and the gfx and co on stock... I would go for at least an 8X if the results are as promising as some hardware sites indicate...

Would it be possible to do 450BSB at 7x ram in Sync 900mhz at 5-5-5-15 no tweaks, no OC on the vidcard ?
I'll test my rig on thursday to see if there's really some gain to go Yorkdale from our GO stepping...( if there are results ofcourse :p )

    thx in Advance
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Just run what he did with his York (7x475 4:5 div 5-4-4) and do a 1M run to compare with your Q6600.

    I bet you'll get 15sec at best.

    edit:

Did a little comparisation myself, i think i have the same mobo (P5K-E):

What benches do you want to have?

I can test nearly everything with 450BSB at 7x ram in Sync 900mhz at 5-5-5-15. Say me, want you want, i will do it

Yes, with my old E6600 or E6850 i reaches nearly the same time with 3,6Ghz. (~13,9xx-14,1xx).

    Edit:

    Thx for this comparisationscreen!

I never pushed my ram up so high, I never go above stock voltages ( 2.3 volts) as I cherish them too much :p, I own the Gskills PC8000 version 4-4-4-5, dunno if they also do 1200mhz (will give it a shot though) Also I don't like some Superpi scores as they are highly tweaked, on Iram drives and co really speeding up things, there was even a guy with an E4400 ( 3.6Ghz) beating my 13.129 score of my E6600@3825 with slower ram timings then me, never understood that... must be in the tweaks...

I just want to knwo if it's worthwhile if I can get a good price for my Q6600 next year to replace it with a Yorkie, or just to hold on to my cash for a little bit longer...

450 x7 FSB, ram at 900mhz 5-5-5-15 , no OC on the Vidcard...
    SuperPI ( no tweaks :p )
    Everest home ram benchmarks
    3dmark 2001/3/5/6
    Aquamark run

Don't need screenies just results...(maybe a memset screenie of how the ram is setup on the P5K-E as I won the P5K Dlx)

I need to install XP again on the P5K Dlx as Aquamark won't run on the 64bit version, take your time I won't be home till thursday...

    This would be possible

But AQ3 isn't good to compare, because with your 8800GTX or GTS your scores will be much better.

Bitte schön, und alles Gute zurück nach Belgien!

yes but thats prob chipset limits rather than CPUs. im sure when X38 matures or when X48 hits then FSBs will be much higher on ALL quads.

My Q9550 has a max fsb of 455. 444 stable. Tested on an Asus Maximus Formula (401, 602, 701) and an Asus P5K3. I'm starting to think only the QX chips are good clockers. I hope I am wrong.
