ya...supposedly. Which is why i'm gonna wait. My QX6700 clocks higher than the ES Penryn I have so there's no need for me to upgrade in Nov.

This is what i've spent in the last 2 week:

    Asus P5E3 $369
    4GB GSkill DDR3 $1K
    2x ATI 2900XT 1GB $1K
    Thermaltake 1200W PSU $340

    Total $2709

My bank account is telling me that i should wait a little bit

ya the QX9650 is sooooo tempting right now.

but stock 1600FSB on the QX9770 is 133t status!

Plus the TDP for both proc's are the same!

I couldn't hold off and baught a GO. I figure I will thrash it around for a while, let the new chips settle in, then make a grab.

I do think they are going to be worth it..... ??

Maximus have read out NB/SB temp in bios.
If put Maximus BIOS to P5E, maybe NB/SB temp will be in bios,
and the setting range of each voltage becomes wide.

I'm sure that having that on your P5E would be great but are really sure you wanna risk stability and overall functionality for that? You have a good chance of making your $200 investment a paperweight.

I really think there are no readouts on the NB and SB on the P5E, not even with a modded bios, it's the same discussion as when the Striker Extreme was released and the P5N32-SLI , yes they use the same PCB , though there are numerous differences (though not all to be seen with the naked eye), hence the extra cost...

If you find it though let us know, but I think you will be looking for a needle in a haystack
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Anyone has tried BIOS 0203 on the P5E? Differences with 0107?

I flashed 0203 over 0107 almost immediately after installation. Now it is very similar to maximus bios. Load line calibration does not work, though

No reason to buy P5E instead of Maximus so I've discovered. Only €60 more for WC NB, Sound card, LCD Poster and working bios. Mine is going back as soon as I receive it.

I am not surre about divider since I am running 1:1, so I haven't check. Voltages have to be entered manually, and then could be adjusted with + and -. But if you want auto again, you should load default values.

Have you link for vdroop mod?

P5E has the same sound card, too. Bios is going to be almost the same. Now is yust one step ahead (fixed load line calibration). I am on air so WC NB doesn't matter for me. I am not going to pay €60 for LCD poster. But I should admit Maximus is more sexy than P5E.

It doesn't have same sound card?? The supreme FX
I don't think they will ever fix P5E bios tbh and I won't wait around for them to do it (spent almost a year waiting for a good AW9D-MAX bios)

    Typo, 0203

4:5 divider is now broken, at least inside 350-400FSB range. Will try more later. Also, when VCore set to auto, with 0107 you get your default VID and when the CPU is idling it drops, now with 0203 auto=1.36 VCore always static??¿?
