Nothing wrong here. Make sure Superfetch is not working when you are priming.

Just a little addition for those of us running higher FSB's and lots of other stuff like tight timings on ram....just set NB GTL ref to .67x, auto seems to put it there anyways. My rig wont boot with anything lower

64, you can see 32bits apps in the taskbar with the *32. Not a single problem with Vista64 till today.

Oh I´m running also 4x1GB, waiting for those GSkills to arrive here

gar...your cpu is still running at 100% though, right? nothing else would be able to run if prime used up 100% of your resources.

The latest Everest UE does a decent job.. + it shows all temps, volts & freqs you want in the systembar..

No, but I have observed this: I started Prime with blend test instead of small ffts by error, this use a lot of memory. I stopped it, so the memory used by blend is now free. When superfetch detects this, it starts using the HDD to fill this free memory. When it was caching, I started small ffts and Prime was using only 83% CPU???¿ That was caused by SF working. As soon as it finished Prime uses 100% of both cores. So make sure all the memory is already cached when you start Prime for accurate results

I´m going to mount my new P5E now, I can confirm it is a hidden Maximus Formula, see below

Tweak to get coretemp working with vista x64

Hi, not sure if this has been posted before, if it has my apologies and the post can be deleted. This works and is as accurate as Everest...

OK, i found out why this is happening, when i use over 1.5vcore prime 95 does this, it doesnt work at 100% and one core is always ahead of the other, because one is being used more than the other, but when i take the vcore down under 1.5v prime 95 loads 100% can someone try 425x9 wth 1.5vcore and see if this happens to you as well, im not sue if i had this issue with 0401 bios, i might revert to test this out.....im not sure if this is the vcore causing this, or an instable overclock, could be the fsb, not sure, if someone with a cpu capable of 3.8ghz could try this out i would appreciate it. thanks.

IMO 9136 and 6400C3 (and I would say my 6400C3's can hold their own against 8888's at 2.4v considering I run 1000 4-4-4-12 at 2.18v) are about on the same playing field, where 8888 and 10000 are high performance.

The binning on 6400C3DFs is alot higher than the 8500s, its considered more of a "performance" part than the 8500s are since my ram will do right up to DDR2 1100 4-4-4-12. 8500s are CAS 5 @ 1066, and my subtimings can be alot tighter given they are higher binned chips...then again in the semiconductor world its all really random from each piece even if it is meticulously binned for performance.

EDIT: Also note, they have discontinued Micron IC's on the 8500 lineup... not sure of the production cutoff date, but the newest kits will not be micron based.

If you purchased those recently Miguel, check your sticker on the side of your ram...you might not have Micron if they are brand spankin new.

if i can find the 1.2v the old ones are going to better than the new ones???
i mean wich ones should i get v1.2 or v2.2?

OK, so after testing, i figured out, any voltage over 1.5 and prime 95 doesnt load all the way, when you look in task manager you will see.

Works fine here with dualcore. Strange, that one. I'll be popping my B3 in later, I'll check it out for ya.

However, because you are in Vista, you can pop up the System Performance window from the Performance tab, and check and see exactly what in the system process is grabbing the cpu-time.

task manager shows you 100% but when you look at prime95, prime is only using about 80-90%....this is with 1.5v and over, i guess only vista users can see this.

someone with Vista 64 please run Prime 95 with a cpu voltage of 1.52 or higher and take a screen shot of task manage and your process screen showing P95 to see how much cpu it is using....this is really wierd....i want to know if its only my cpu or the boards itself.

It's not a Vista issue..it's the board. confirmed behavior on XP32, didn't have to load up Vista to see it Vcore over 1.52 idle results in less than 100% prime load. Quad's only tho, not dualies.
