really looking forward for some results with quads...my nozzles are here and my system is waiting to be torn down...but I am going to do this only once and add a MIPS mosfet + NB swifty block to my loop.
I hope my AquaXtreme 50Z-DC12 PUMP will manage to keep up with my additions and that my double heatercore will manage to keep up with the added thermal load. (no gpu block in the loop.).

I have Arctic Silver Premium Ceramique, and Arctic Silver 5 sitting right in front of me.

Which one would be better to use between the D-TEK, and the Q6600?

I can also confirm that the bowed Apogee's have slightly lower pressure drop in my testing. In fact a bowed Apogee GT has a tiny bit lower pressure drop than a flat vanilla Apogee.

Ah I gotta order some nozzles too.

    Install picts:

Can you see it in there?

The nozzle is oriented horizontally, where as my Arctic Silver Premium Ceramique line was vertically drawn on my Q6600. The O-ring thingey goes in with no problem. According to the AS Home page, you apply Ceramique to the D-Tek too, then wipe it back off with a lint free cloth, which I did do...

We of course leave the thin line of Ceramique in tact in the chip, before it gets smashed down by the block.

Does the mounting plate need to be turned a centain way on the D-Tec? Is mine OK as is?

    My build is progressing ......

Plate can go either way as long as it avoids contact with nearby components.

wont the orientation of the quad nozzle make a big difference? Like if you split the flow 90 degrees rotated the wrong way, results would be poor.

    Yes
That's why they include instructions and a diagram showing alignment relative to the socket.

Yes it will, and says so in the included instructions.

We are diverting the water directly onto the 2 dual cores.

I had the AS info page up on How to apply Céramique
Intel Quad Core CPU W/Heatspreader, looking at the orentation of the line (page 5).
    http://www.arcticsilver.com/pdf/appi..._quad_wcap.pdf

Our included instructions with the Nozzle kit has the line going the oppisite way.

I think I have it right, and hoped the pic might help others on their install too.

But, yeha... Putting it the wrong way would probably cost you a few C.

I think if your mobo is orentated like mine when you mount it, just remember horizontal line on the nozzle, and vertical line for the AS goop is best.

actually the included instructions show the orientation relative to the notches on the side of the CPU because the socket can be rotated 90 degrees in some cases iirc.

My instructions with the nozzle kit shows the same picture as the Arctic Silver document.

Yes, but on the AS link above, on page 5 it has the red line drawn onto each dual core, dividing them in half.

Our instructions have the line drawen between the 2 dual cores, never touching either one.

That means if you mount a Q6600, on a Maximus SE, in a TJ09 case, when all the smoke clears, AS gets drawen top to bottom on the chip, and the nozzle should have a horizontal orentation when you look at it in the inlet.

If this is incorrect, dont hesitate to call it out!

    yup,

The instructions that came with the nozzles clearly outline the difference and how to install the quad nozzles correctly. Regardless of how you mount the block, the nozzles (or split the divides the nozzle) should sit parallel with the two notches on the left of the CPU. So if you were going to mount the block so the inlet/outlet sat a certain way, you'd make sure the nozzle was orientated so it sat parallel with the notches by spinning it around before closing it up.
i'll keep that in mind when i re-mount my block

Yeah see my nozzles came without any paperwork - but in my testing some blocks matter (apogee GT specifically) which was the block is oriented on single die.

You have to know how your going to mount the block and install the nozzles acordinglly before you do.

    hope this helps,

    I see...

Well my triangle is in the lower right corner, and the dot is in the lower left. My - on the nozzle is running parallel with them.

Would it be safe to conclude, for now, that the temp improvements are within margins or error? I dunno if 1 or 2 degrees difference is that big of a deal. Don't get me wrong, I have a set of nozzles, just wanted to see if it will be worth the trouble to take the Fuzion apart and install it.

Well altogether I did 10 mounts the other night, and the sealed/nozzled mounts are pretty consistently lower than the ones I did beforehand.

I did discover one interesting thing though... Bringing ceramique down to 0C then back up to ambient improves its performance by about 2-3C very quickly...

I have to be patient and wait for my AS Ceramique to cure, but so far I am seeing some improvement, and it is inside of 2 degrees, but I cannot say that its limited to a margin of error because the AS has to fully cure before any conclusions can be drawn. Its only been 1-1/2 days since I installed.

    Linus,

    Thanks for the results.

To all who are waiting for their TIMs to cure, how about using Arctic Cooling MX-2? IIRC, it does not need time to cure.

I guess I'll tear it down tonight or tomorrow night. Heck I paid for it, so might as well use it. I should see some immediate temp improvements since I'm using MX-2

got mine, too. I've been using an O-ring to fill the gap, so we'll se what improvements the nozzle alone brings. However, I do remember seeing a pretty comprehensive review of nozzle performance. It wa in XtremeSystems I believe. Bowed, inbowed, nozzle, no nozzle, gtx, gt, etc. etc... I'm pretty sure that review is here somewhere....

Also, got my Petra's pen and decal!!!! Thanks guys.
