Hi guys,
I put a lil more vcore ... was at 1.37 now I'm at 1.4v
I runned prime last nite, my pc rebooted after 3 hours I think
I runned it again to see what was wrong and saw that my temp was 6-7 C more then when I was at 1.37 ... so I think it rebooted because it was high temp.
So I deceided to use 4*450 for 3.6GHZ instead of 9 * 400 ...
running prime since 30 mins right now
temp are like :
PWM : 68
Chipset : 57
CPU : 69 61 61 69
seems since I putted .03 more vcore my temps are like 6-7 higher .. seems weird to me ?
Also, I would like to know about the heat pipe .. I installed it on the back of my case and It's in front of my 120 mm fan ... but the pipe is a bit loose ... I can play a bit with it ... do you guys think that it's better to put some thermalpaste on the pipe at both side ? because my PWM at 69C I find it a bit high ..
Let me know what you guys think
Thx

Really need to find a way to keep the chipset temps below 45C for 24/7 stability. Both your PWM and Chipset temps are abnormally high for the speeds you're running. What are your other voltages set at?
Here is SG screenshot ..
What I should do ... come back to 3.4GHZ ? .. at 3.4 my PWM and Chipset was at 50 and 47 on load and was prime stable for 15 hours
I won't panix for 200 mhz less .. if nothing I can do
let me know

I have found some inconsistencies using 3 different p35-t2r's and pwm/chipset temps. First one would get in the low 50's under load, second would top out around 65 oC, and the one I have now tops out at around 55 under load.
Check contact of PWM heatsink, maybe tighten screws up a bit. Maybe consider using Transpiper on PWM if you arent already.

I use the transpiper already .. I asked if it would be better to put some thermal paster to make a better contact because it seems a bit loose to me ... about the PWM and Chipset heatsink you want me to remove them and look if contact is good ?

Something isn't making good contact. I've got my voltages cranked up so as not to interfere with some memory settings I'm testing and my temps are still nowhere near as high as yours.

what are safe 24/7 voltages for NB core & VTT?
Just checked ambient next to the system with my Fluke. 26.1C. I have a Yate Loon 120mm blowing across the board.
I think my Mushkin sticks finally commited suicide. Will not post with every method of working around tried. Good news is I hear their support/RMA is good![]()
Currently running an a crucial rendition 1gb stick until the two 2gb 8500 ballistix kits i just ordered for 85$ each arrive on friday![]()

GTL logic is very hard to put forwards in a sense that is universally applicable to every person.
In some cases matching NBCore and NBGTL is not always fruitful, a sign of inadequate NBGTL is either random core failures, or using a higher Vdimm for stability, my board and setup prefers NBGTL aligned with VTT, letting me get away with low overall Vdimm. Others have to match NBGTL with NBCORE (65-67%.
Though highish fsb's are nice we found out that real world apps benefit little between running a higher fsb (circa 465-475fsb) over running the 266 strap between 414-430fsb at similar cpu speeds (this is with 4 gig in place, needing the 333 strap to obtain stability over 460fsb)..
Though the synthetic benchmarks like Everest show otherwise, gaming engine's and even rendering benchmarks show around a 1% gain at most, which can usually be put down to variance in repeated runs.
Look out for our article on Anandtech (should be up in the next 9 hours), Gary and myself have put some hard hours into getting something together (thanks to Praz too for helping me out!). We could not go into every aspect as it would have taken months lol. But there's is a bit of a guide in there and even some cascade stuff. There will be more in depth study of BIOS on the performance boards at Anandtech...
regards
Raja

Hey, any of you guys been running the "New" Intel Chipset Drivers? If so whats you're impression of them on this board?

@Brother Esau: wish i could get my hands on a better cooling but damn...too far![]()
I'm around the same ambient right now, but idle 42, load 44 @ default voltage. I think mine's higher due to the HR-03 Plus blowing hot air so close to the chipset. Perhaps you're on a bench too. (stupid LAN parties and the need for a case)![]()
Sweet...looking forward to it. I'm going through their 2nd UT3 article now. I really wish they would have used a fraps run tho.
Just reinstalled Vista last week w/ 8.3.1.1009 9/24/2007. I'm unsure if it's the updates, drivers, or sheer luck, but disk I/O performance has been improved dramatically since the last time Vista was my main OS (3 months ago). There have been no usb issues either. Although from time to time, Vista will refuse to do as I ask, it's def a much better experience than before. Unfortunately, there are still some programs don't deal w/ the new OS well, so dual boot's a necessity if you're a fan of staying sane.![]()
my nb temps and pwm never get lower than 50C..even at stock voltages.. sigh..

I got a bsod with my quad @ 3730 after more than 4 hours of prime without error....no fail on a core happened before bsod
Any ideas ?
P.S. where can i read the Rev of my DA750W ?
Raja and Gary's article is up at Anandtech. A must read for anyone with this board.
