Can't speak to that. Mine is still in route.
So is my CPU and RAM .....
To be honest, I keep flipping back and forth in my mind if I should give the stock Fusion cooling a try. I know it is early in the game, but it will be nice to see how some temps look on a mobo with all the best blocks, vs a stocker running the Fusion.
We will need a few more boards up and running first to get numbers like that...![]()
The smart money is on the high end water blocks, but the real question is by how much, and how well the Fusion actually does at cooling.

Update: My Maximus arrived at the house today!!
Looks like a beauty, and not a scratch on er.
From Newegg my Ram, Ram fan, and fan extension cables made it too.....
It was a good parts day for me.
I am finishing up wet sanding the primer coat my mobo tray. Things are starting to shape up a bit.

Another thought, might an EK NF4 Rev 1.1 block fit as well since it has the slotted screw holes ?
Here - EK NF4 Rev 1.1
I have a couple here at home, but I'm waiting on an accurate diagonal measurement for comparisons sake.
Thanks for the post. That is the Swiftech MCW30 correct?
That would make the most current listing:

If you know the best thermal compound to attach each one, please fill it in.
Did you see that on the box it has...
Fusion Block System
H2O Ready: The next step in thermal solution. The Fusion block system combines the ROG's renowned heatpipe design with the ability to conduct to a water cooling system for a 47% increase in thermal performance compared to other heatpipe designs.
Not sure what to think about that....

Perhaps my mounting id varies a bit from the specs. Using the two screws, washers and nuts thru the motherboard, I lightly tighten them before mounting the block. After your post, I had another look and one screw is just "very slightly" tilted, not being a perfect fit but one that is acceptable to me.

Here's my solution for the SB:
I bought an Enzotech CNB-S1L from Petra's and 'Dremelled' it (new verb). Was a PITA to get those holes at 42mm separation, and also had to chop the end off one of the mounts as it was hitting that cap - but it seems to work ok.
The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6.
I'm also using the MCW30 on the NB and the Apogee GTX with copper top on the CPU - seems to be a popular combo![]()
I just received my Maximus![]()
Dumb questions : I'm starting in WC ...
The WC NB included, really suck ? I'm looking to keep it and use it with my Fuzion (when I receive it) cpu block...
I will go crossfire also but will add another WC system (rad, pump and reservoir, tubing 1/2, 2 full block from EK) ... So, basically, I'm looking at a dual WC system with my TJ-07...
What do you think ?
I am new to water cooling too, and it is my first build.
The Maximus in it's stock form is a looker to me....
That darn "47% increase in thermal performance compared to other heatpipe designs" is eating at me.
Combined with Asus'es official stance - Fusion Block System: The next step in thermal solution, and how efficient it is and all....
I am starting to think they may have something here?
Man we need numbers to check out bad!! I would love to see a temp test between some high end rig (with all the individual blocks), against the stock Fusion block, both on good water setups.
If I get all custom blocks, then I'll need backplates too, then there is the matter of bending my 1/2" tube in the tight spaces, and don't let your mobo bend, and the cost, and getting them in the US....
My little spirit is kind of sick on the matter to be honest.
The big strike I initially had against running the stock Fusion block was it was smaller than my 1/2" water hose, and didn't want to cutt down on my flow. Now I have just ordered the latest thing to try, the Fusion CPU block nozzle kit, with one nozzle in there for a quad core. This kit I believe works by constricting, or jetting the water at the block. And guess what... I think it actually may work, and it's a much bigger constrictor than the stock Fusion block will ever be by the looks of the nozzle?
And what is the deal with the "ROG's renowned heatpipe design"? Is it a known thing in the universe that this is indeed a well designed heatpipe? Does it disperse heat well? I have no idea....![]()
More confusion...
So far I have only a CPU block wich I needed, and the Fusion stock cooling. If I buy 1 more block, I pritty much have to jump in big, or hold my ground as is....
I would love to hear some opinions...
I would be going CPU to Fusion to GPU at a minimum, on 1 bad boy loop.
