    2900Pro benches by XtwinZ

    Hi everybody
today was a benching session at home, and we tested the new best buy ATI cards the HD2900Pro's. The plan was outside testing single card and CF results (3Dmark01,05) with my E6850, but the warmup tests was inside on air, and we've got serious overclocking problems, the CF results was terrible, but I'm sure CF worked, so maybe the P5K vanilla or the Enermax Galaxy 1KW was not enough, or just need more experience with the CF. Another results, over@locker886 benches his E6550 fsb freak cpu, and get easy 640fsb on DI

    So, my results:
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 (L724B054)
    M/B: Asus P5K "Vanilla", fullmod
    Vcore: 1.75v Vdimm: 2.50v Vmch: 1.70v Vpll: 2.25v
    CPU Cooling: DryIce
    Memory: 2*1GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500
    VGA: Sapphire HD2900Pro, unmodded
    HDD: Samsung 250GB sataII
    PSU: Corsair HX620W

    Max validation @ 4986MHz
the cpu got serious fsb wall @ 552mhz

    3Dmark2001 single card

    3Dmark2005 single card

and the 05 CF run @ default clocks

    and some pics

and here is the new XtwinZ TeamHungary, welcome jugeen (myself->jugeen->over@locker886)

So the 2900Pro benches will continue...
    Cheers

    Nice clocks!

Are you going to flash PRO->XT for better CF performance?

How much vgpu you needed for 874MHz core?

    Keep up good work!

vgpu was 1.2v. if flashing can keep vgpu 1.2v constantly like xt vgpu has, it worst to be flashed. the main problem is if you pump core fsb higher, it is always setting the vgpu back to 1.1v. so we culdn't get over 900 GPU freq.

With the Vgpu not sticking dont you have to set the clocks first then set the voltage ?

Yesterday we (SoAk and me) tested CF finally, with SS cooled CPU's

    CPU: E6850 (L720A513) / Q6600 (L728A874)
    M/B: Asus Blitz Formula
CPU Cooling: Vapo LS Chilly1 modded
    Memory: 2*1GB Crucial Lanfest 2k7
VGA: 2*Sapphire HD2900Pro flashed to XT
    HDD: Samsung 250GB sataII
    PSU: Enermax Galaxy 850W

    3Dmark2005 CF

    3Dmark2006 CF
(It seems the PSU was not enough for a great 06 run the dragon test was crashed the same time, if the cpu or the vga's was going higher)

    system pics
