I had been playing with the GTL settings and yes it did make quite an improvement but it was still throttling down to the 6 X multi, I'll see what this Asus does, I suppose it could be a bad CPU but we'll see soon.
Good luck, I think you'll be real happy with your results on the Maximus. That DFI RD600 bios was a good learning experience I guess, but after working so hard for every extra 5mhz on that board the nice, easy, blow-and-go Asus bios is a nice break.
