680i SLI is too expensive? Asus as the solution : P5N32-E SLI PLUS

i just got back my RMA'd MB its a p5n32e sli plus , yet now the new board has a p5n32e sli bios , its weird .
but all the stability problems are fixed . so i cant complain .
how the hell is it possible? one is i650 , and one is i680 chipset.

Which version of the BIOS is on there?
Technically the board might run ok with it but I doubt it was on purpose if indeed it is another boards BIOS. It could be though because they would have had to force the flash somehow. Maybe they stuck a whole new chip on it and put the wrong one?

its the 1205 bios , and it runs like a charm , the bios clearly states sli and not plus , yet everest shows that the chipset is the hybrid i650 one , and not the i680.
my memory problems are fixed , now i can run 4gb of ram 4X1 .
and the system is supper stable 28H of prime.

maybe thay discoverd that the i680 bios works better?

yet im having problems OCing tho , i can get windows to boot on 3.0ghz (q6600)
when on the old bios i booted 3.0 with no problem , all set at auto .

Even though it runs and has been known to in the past I will bet that them flashing it with that BIOS was a mistake. It is up to you but the new 0805 plus BIOS should have the same implementations for compatibility and also have the correct instructions for the 650i/570i chipset combination we are dealing with for this board.
