    Have you tried booting with low FSB and change performance level before clocking higher in windows? Its set rather tight at auto and 4/5.

    And Asus Probe II do´nt work at all.

    They are not cheap here either - looks like Newegg is playing its usual release-time gauging-game again...

    What is the best memory to order for the Max. I would like 4GB options, but only taking 2 memory slots. Money is not an issue, just OC'ing ability.

    I would like to keep 2 slots open in case I decide to take the board to 8GB some day.

    We need the 1066 not the 800 correct...

    Now that I know what mobo I ended up with, it is the correct time to select my memory. (newbie)

    but afaik iirc the maximus has never had a bios update, whereas X38-dq6 has had had quite a few. it could probably beat the P35-boards with a few updates.

    i am almost tempted to purchase this board but after my last experience with an ASUS board the P5N32-E which I have two RMA 3 times and everytime i received a DOA board, btw i gave up on them since the last one did not work either it just laying around after shelling over 300 , i'll wait for the Abit max ver to come out
