Hey Dynasty what sort of cooling you're gonna use on them??

Oh and Sapphire didn't even bother to flash Pro BIOS !
What's card clocks then? Still XT 743/830 or it's 600/800?
BTW ATiTool is saying XT even on PRO, but CCC is detecting properly (or not, depends how you look at it)!

Wish you 1st ORB place with these babies!

Yeah just pug it in. PLUG, arg its getting late. Tho i only got 850Mhz core and then now i cant run over 830Mhz. DX10 games will only let me run 810Mhz tho, Ill just be happy if i can get 2 cards to 800Mhz, the heat will be intence!

Nice thread, too bad if it wasn't for the AA performance issue, I had prolly been all over this card already. But I'm dying to play with a new card, 8800GT & 2950 Pro is sooo far away still.

If AMD/ATI releases a driver that fixes AA performance then I might consider.

Yeah some games namely fear has horrible AA performance, and bioshock it just wont work right on ati cards. TF2, Oblivion, Quake 4, and many others are fine with 8xAA and oblivion runs 4xAAA alot better now with later drivers. ATi still has some work ahead of them if they want the HD2950XT to be successful.

    I'm using 2 x 6-pins connectors and still gets 1,2V once 3D is detected.
But, my card shows up as a 'XT' (Sapphire), so I suspect it's a xt-bios already on the card.

From what I've read - the '8-pin mod' purpose is to alow Overdrive within CCC.

About 1.2V vgpu on HD2900Pro with 8pin PCIe connector - it's not true unfortunately! Card is still feeding 1.15V when in 3D mode.

This must be set in BIOS then, but if someone really wants higher voltages there is hard mod already available ....

I tested 3DMark06 under XP x64 and no improvement there. Now I'm preparing myself to install Vista Business to do some DX10 tests...

Of course 7.10 are better in some games and they are fixing couple of issues for XP based systems as well.
BTW I'm playing HL:Portal now at 1680x1050x4AA everything maxed+motion blur and it's smooth! Best experience with vsync ON !

Portal is fun..i have the bonus map left now, it runed well on my Opty 165 @3.0ghz, 2gb , XFX7800 and 1680x1050 but AA off i think. Thx for the info about 7.10 and 3dmark. I have always like my geforce cards beter than ati but maybe its time to go ati again the price seems to be more right for the 2900pro than the geforce 8800.

I preferred GF up to GF3 series, then I switched orientation to ATI from R8500 onwards. This still didn't stop me from having GF6800GS and lately 7900GTO .

When I will install Vista you can expect couple of results from me here
