    i have also purchased one of these. A Club3D version though. cam with 3 heatpipe cooler. I have the same issue with the voltage dropping back to original on atitool. Has flashing the card to a XT changed the voltage at all. Picture looks like it hasn't.

    Also as a warning to everyone, the club 3d packaging says on the outside 256-bit memory interface. plugged it in and checked to find rivatuner detects it as 512-bit. I am presuming this is incorrect information on the box, but benchs later will tell.

    If the xt bios changed the voltage, i may have to do the same

    No it didn't change the voltage ... But it might be that HIS 2900XT is having 1.15V ... I don't know yet.

    I'm sure BIOS is selecting Voltages but they might be preset on PCB during manufacturing same as it was with Athlon XP bridges and all BIOS is doing is selecting VID_0 ... VID_X from previously preset values. When I will come back from my another 2 day trip I will dig that deeper.

    Don't worry, Club3D screwed up the specs on the box, 512-bit it is.

    nothing big different beetween them unless the clocks and the number of heatpipes
    strangely, XT has less heatpipes than the PRO (2 vs 3)
    in other words, PRO is an underclocked XT

    the rest is just the same

    Hey guys I just ordered a EVGA 8800Ultra and a water block for it. My question is should I return it and get two HD2900 Pro's for less than I paid for my Ultra? Would 2 2900 Pros be faster? My last 8800Ultra overclocked to 720 core and 2400 memory ran over 16k in 3dmark06 with my quad at 3.9GHz. What would be faster overall. Thanks.

    Did you use ATIFlash to perform the flash? I"m thinking about getting a 1Gb version and flashing to XT for Crossfire.....that would be NICE!

    yes i think you should return the ultras and get the pro.

    technically u will save money. and you will feel good about yourself when u overclock it and flash it to xt bios.

    plus i personnely think it looks better than the ultra.

    Do you think they will perform better than a overclocked Ultra? They will be on water cooling.

    @binormalkilla: yes ATiFlash.
    What you did didn't do a 100% flash. It left the ID part the same but by using the -newbios it will 100% flash the bios. The -newbios command was needed to reflash the X1800GTO to allow voltage control in ATITool with a X1800XL BIOS if the -newbios command wasn't used then there was no voltage control.

    Well it looks like I will do another flash!
