    Mountain Mods H2g0

I was wondering if anyone on these boards ordered MM's new case? If so, I was hoping people would share their impressions and opinions.

I pre-ordered mine and it is scheduled to be delivered on Friday 9/28. I'm hoping to move my system into the case this weekend and will try to remember to take some pictures.

Here's the link to the case I am referring to: http://www.mountainmods.com/computer...o-c-21_81.html

Mine arrived early this week. I was about to post pictures on the build (I am moving my home office PC into it. Love the case and its horizontal MB tray. Not big fan of the 5 1/4 bays but working with MM to come up with a solution - you have to have at least one 5 1/4 drive to make the bay work even blank cover slots!

Beautiful case, decent room inside. Too many screws - 14 on top alone and 7 more for each side!

I got mine earlier today and have only had a chance to unpack it. I'll probably start gutting my current case tonight and hope to have everything done tomorrow.

I agree, there are ALOT of screws, but I knew that prior to the purchase. The scary thing about ordering this case what that I ordered based of a sketch and did not know what the finished product was going to look like. I am very pleased with how it looks and my pre-build impressions are very positive.

    More to follow. . .

It was a busy weekend, but I got the build up and running.

    HD mount w/ 120MM Fan.

5.25" Bay module. I have since removed the multifunction device.

    The bottom section.

    Just about done.

    The finished product.

There will be a few changes as I upgrade some parts here and there and eventually i will introduce some WCing, but until then that's about it.

    Sorry for all the questions..

    Thanks
You must use a full size 5 1/4 device that has a bottom. The reason this is, is that there is a acrylic part that screws into the bottom of the case and the bottom of the device to secure it to the case.

You could put a plate in there though. Something like a DDC 5 1/4 mounting plate would do it.

Do you have a picture of what you are referring to? Whatever it is, it will need to have screw holes on the side so that the two side plates can screw into it so that it can secure the other devices. The bottom device is essentially the foundation, with the supplied parts it secures all the devices to the case.

It's just a flat plate with up turned edges that bolts across a 5 1/4 drive space.
Normaly a DDC pump sits on it. You could put any screw holes wanted in it.
Going by your description it sounded like it would do the job if you didn't want to mount a drive there.

The packet of bolts is the pump mount stuff. The plate screws in to a drive tower with normal drive screws.

If folks want a 3D wander around the H2G0, you can get the Google Sketchup Component for it over here: http://www.over-clock.com/ivb/index.php?showtopic=20383

I have that exact same case i am building with my son, the difference we are putting
2 swiftech 120.2's and the full set of Kookance waterlocks, a Q9300 and SLI 8800GTS 320's.
It's a sweet looking box, i can't wait to start putting the components in it.....

We have the black wrinkle. I don't think the rad's will be mounted external but I have ordered 4 fans (the Metal ones), and some great fan filters which will be on hte outside and the rads on the inside, I think the effect will go over well. and on hte lower single the fans will be internal with silver mesh covers.

As far as the window, I love the way it looks, Kinda keeps the guts covered and yet exposes the MB and all the watercooling gear, To me the window cuts are stylish and add some character then just a big wondow like the Duality and UFO that i have....

I should have the parts in 2 weeks and I'll post some pics as it starts to grow.
