    Cool, looking forward to that.

BTW, in respects to temps of the chipset and PWM, what is the max or the threshold we should start worrying about crossing when it comes to those? I really should install the transpiper to see if it helps cause I easily hit late 50's to early 60's under full load in a very hot room.

Sorry if this question has been asked, but I didn't see it. For the NB, will the MCW30 fit? What about the SB, will the evercool vc-re fit? Thanks guys.

both use standard spacing for the mounting holes so...yes they should fit. but to be honest this board does not need water on the n/b or s/b. i have given it an absolutely abusive amount of volts and the temps are excellent. i have done 600 fsb and completed 3d benches @ 585 fsb so i don't think the restriction in the loop and the added hassle would be worth it.

New DFI LP UT P35-T2R Owner

After weeks of issues with my nVidia-680i SLI based EVGA motherboard, I've decided to make the jump to a P35-based platform. I know the X38 is around the corner but I really needed something now. I decided to go with DFI based on the large number of success stories in this thread.

Unfortunately, I'm having an issue installing Vista Ultimate x64. I have it down to the barebones - CPU, 2GB RAM, Video Card, DVD Drive and a single hard drive. The install starts off fine and unpacks/installs all the files. It then performs the first restart and returns to the Windows installation only to hang after about 3 minutes of finalizing the install. Mouse/Keyboard are non-responsive. Appears to happen every time I attempt an install.

Has anyone experienced this before? I'm running everything at stock settings. Should I try upgrading to the latest BIOS? I see that some of the BIOS updates since 08/10 address some Vista issues but I'm not sure if they're related to the install (outside of the installing with 4GB+ RAM).

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I should also note that all temps are good (CPU - 26C, NB - 35C, SB 32C). I also verified that all the power connections were secure.

Thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of WinXP to install. I guess I could try Fedora or some other Linux distro.

Well the update to BIOS 09/13 appears to have gotten me past the Vista Ultimate install hanging after the first restart. Thanks again for the help.

progress was short lived. as soon as i tried to install Everest 4, it locked up on me right at the end of the install. Tried it twice and the same thing. I'm going to see if it can make it through Windows Updates and then try again. Temps reported in BIOS are still good -- a little higher since i closed up the case but still good.

Make sure you have the sound card plugged in. Everest kept locking up and re-booting my computer until I did this.

    Talking Latest Victim

LOL the Transpiper thing is a PITA yes?

I triied it on the SB and got minimal effect--I dug around in the parts bins and found a Nidec off an old AMD HSF and it fit great--could not figure out why that metal bracket was there. Took it off and the clips work great on the plastic thing that mounts the Nidec to an AMD HS--still did feel any heat leeching off the Mosfet or NB..

So I remounted it on the Mosfet and hung it out the back--but this is a tech station so I angled it to be as far from my ears as possible

I could not see putting that metal plate between the CPU and WaterBlock. Has anyone tried that yet? But I found the smaller plate will work fine on that application--so you can hang the Transpiper out the back without involving the CPU in some sort of kinky threeway...

Tried some settings I was using on the Inifnity and got right onto Folding at 3200 ( 8 x 400) without issue.

I did not even have to mess with SW--the RAID install from the Infinity was received by the LanParty and the only updates were to the Lan and Audio.

Extremely happy with the board temps and the CPU temp. To be running at 4C over ambient at load overvolted and overclocked is stunning.

This puts my P5K Deluxe to shame.

The version of Everest that JimmyZ provided worked fine. Still need to run all the standard tests at stock to make sure everything is stable. Once that's done I'll move forward with some overclocking. Can anyone provide a template or suggestions for a "safe" overclock to around 3.4-3.6GHz with my Q6600 and PC2-6400 DDR2 RAM?

Here is a link to the specs on my memory for reference:

    http://patriotmem.com/products/detai...&id=593&type=1

Not sure how much headroom these have but they should have some. I also have these modules as well (had planned on using them on my 680i board but was advised not to):

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

@CyberDruid........What size is that Fan that you stuck on the Transpiper 70mm? I had ordered a 60mm from the Egg with my Cross Blower thingy for my Stacker and its too small

Also as a Point of Interest I think that if you install that copper plate in conjuction with that water cooling you will be styling!

Hey all, I've got a few questions if you don't mind.

    1) I'm looking at this vs. the IP35 Pro for overclocking a Q6600 G0 hopefully to somewhere around 3.6GHz. I'm sure both boards will get me there but is this one worth almost double the price of the Abit?

    2) what's all this GTL stuff about?

YES!!!! I just sent back my Abit IP35 Pro and got this do to a bad USB port on the Abit which is a shame because the board is a rock! But..... trust me DFI P35 surpasses it with leaps and bounds!!! Runs cooler and a Monster of a Overclocker with much more scalability than the Abit as a Overclocking board!

Now don't get me wrong the Abit IP35 Pro I will not hesitate to endorse in a Heartbeat and I am and have been a DFI fanboy for some time but fair is fair and the Abit is a stellar board but if you want too really get you're Overclock Jones on this is the Board for you!

Sounds good, I've always had only DFI boards so what you said along with everyone else in this thread is encouraging

It's only about $290 at the 'egg right now and will probably drop by the time I get around to buying it.

Just got this board on Friday and now trying to run it with my QX6700 . Unfortunately I had a problems to run the board with my Enermax Liberty 620W PSU . The board just does not likes it – no post, no diagnostic led, just nothing. The PSU is working great with my P5N32E-SLI with SLI 8800GTSx2 640Mb onboard.
Same problem here with a Liberty 500w .

money well spent winston856. the board is awesome. if this board won't get you to 3.6 then it is the fault of the chip or the cooling.
