My Rev. 505 board will do 9 x 389 with the Q6600 B3 in my sig.

Edit: Needed 1.7v on the NB though.

Woah, 1.7v for the MCH, right? And what for your FSB? It seems that increased FSB voltage actually makes my system less stable. I'm running the latest BIOS -- 2792. I'm running at default CPU voltage as increasing it doesn't seem to do much good. The VID on this chip is 1.2375, but IDU reads the CPU voltage at 1.188. When I run Prime95 (25.4) this voltage "droops" down to between 1.165 and 1.176. 'Course who knows how accurate these readings really are? I'm too lazy to bust out with a voltimeter (or whatever ya call it).

Oh, and how many o' y'all have actually been able to clock higher after lapping the HS and/or CPU? I've been thinkin' about doing this.

At this speed (after a hour) and a few fsb below... the motherboard randomly reboots. no bluescreen/freeze, just reboot.

At 415 FSB+ I can't get into windows. This is with 1.425 vFSB and 1.650 vMCH.

    Any ideas?

hi everyone. i kinda need some help here. i have just overclocked my system now to 3.24GHz now with 360FSBx9multi for the proc. the memory is running at 533MHz and 4-4-4-13 timing. the load temps are all good and the system boots to window without any errors upto the profile loads.

if i leave the system running at the profile selection stage, there is no problem and the system runs continously for hours. however, the moment i boot into windows with any profile, the system restarts itself. i have already unloaded most startup programs. about the only things loading now are google desktop, RightMark CPU Clock utility, ATI Riva Tuner and couple of other minor programs apart from creative taskbar.

anyone has any idea why the system reboots? i am pretty sure that the temps never exceed 50C even at load.

KMEI : try loosening the strap to 1333 and see if you can go higher. The max fsb with 1066 strap is around 410-420.

cyrixMII300 : What is the cpu you have ? What voltage did you give to the CPU ?

The fsb voltage was set to 1.375.

Anyway, I put the board up for sale on ebay for anyone who might be interested in a BX2 that does 9x389 for 3.5Ghz. Thanks.

PM for link to the auction. I also have other goodies on auction.

Ok, testing QX6850 with BX2 rev 504 and work ok, with 2777 bios. Max stable FSB is around 390MHz with 1.6-1.65Vmch - more do nothing. Weired is when I testing this combo under cascade and set 13 x 380MHz ... mobo boot easy, in bios correct freq, but in windows I have still 13 x 333MHz grr. Sometimes mobo change mem freq from 4:5 to 2:3, but after changing manualy in bios to 4:5 and boot freq of mem is ok.

    My two cents

These are the same modules that I am using. I have been running the last set (third set) for about four months now at 2.1 volts with slightly relaxed timings. Like you, I have 2 2 x 1 GB modules so I have to have all four ram slots occupied.

    Ok

Tommorow I have new ( hmm six E6850 CPU ) and I tested it on this mobo.

QX6850 work ok and able to hit ~400MHz FSB without vmch mod adjust, so why E6850 wont work on this mobo ? If I have some free time and combo will work ok, I test it under cascade

    Hi

    I just replaced my E4300 with a Q6600 GO..

I was able to get the E4300 to 9x360 Ref 266/533

    voltage

    CPU 1.45
    FSB 1.4
    MCH 1.6

The best I can get the Q6600 is 340 Ref 266/533

    voltage

    CPU 1.4
    FSB 1.4
    MCH 1.6

I can not seems to get a higher FSB even if I up the Voltage..

    Ok, initial test E6850 on bx2 ...

Work no problem, mobo easy booting, CPU recognized ok. Short test of stability at stock clocks and work ok.

Going to bios Add some FSB of course ( starting with 400MHz ), mobo boot ok, 3.6GHz in bios ...

    Windows up, run CPU-Z and wtf CPU-Z report 333MHz x 9, bios report 400MHz x 9.

Tried 340MHz, 360MHz, 350MHz ... still in bios good freq, but in windows stock clock 3000MHz

    Bios 2777 and 2792 I testeds.

Not good for me if we have only must run at stock freq with this combo

    DEVIL,

Are you sure that C1E/EIST is not reducing your multiplier when you aren't under load? You may be mistaking your 6x for a 9x :P Try running superpi or something to check it out.

I have C1E all time disabled System file tweak noC1E.

This is not downgrading multipiler - FSB not pumping up on windows. When I set in bios 400MHz and save, on next boot I have this 400MHz FSB, so 3600MHz visible in bios on first page. But when I going to windows and run CPU-Z I have still 333MHz FSB not 400MHz.

EIST/C1E is dosen't matter in this case.
