Review(s) of HD2900Pro popping up! 512bit memory bus CONFIRMED!

I just found 1st review of HIS HD2900Pro 512MB GDDR3 on a Polish site PCLab...

From the article I wouldn't quote here you can find out that 2900pro has 512bit memory bus!! and can be easily overclocked up to and beyond HD2900XT speeds!

    Some random performance figures:

The first decent dx10 midrange card, it makes the 8600GTS look so bad performace/price wise.

I think i'm gonna get one

    Don't think so...
HIS has the specs of their 2900Pro on their website as well.

Yea, it's just a underclocked XT. If it's priced around $200, it'll be a really good card.

I'm just glad Nvidia has some competition for their 8800GTS series to finally bring the prices down. If priced around $250 MSRP, this card will sell.

too bad I bought a X1950 Pro one month ago X-( should I be mad about AMD now and try to get my money back? for only 50 Euros more I would get HL EP2, TF2 and Portal AND a better GFX

I want to have the Black Box Voucher :/

Great so now my hopes are big for X2950 Pro a bit later. But for only 200 EUR this 2900Pro becomes already a very tempting buy, MUST RESIST a bit longer. xD I have said to myself wait for 9800GTS or X2950 Pro is out b4 making any rush moves but damn this looks like great value for 200 EUR.

That will put the pressure on Nvidia to drop its prices

Anyways... Sounds like a great card, with the 512bit bus pretty much confirmed.

Well the 1GB version will prolly be pretty much like 8800GTS 640MB anyways. I have a hard time seeing the extra cost will actually be worth it but would be glad to be wrong.

That's the first site that said that AMD is gonna drop the Athlon brand for "Phenom" with K10, and everyone was calling BS.. Only to find out they wer'e right.

I remember cause I created that thread back then. It was merged somewhere into the (now dead) AMD Barcelona thread.

    IAC, Looks nice.

I was seriously considering getting a 2900xt card, but unless ATI fixes their AA performance issue, I don't think I'll be purchasing one.

For some reason, the R600 takes a huge hit when you turn AA on despite it's tremendous bandwidth.

Were all the test's performed on a standard card? i.e. no overclocks?

I dont like the fact the 8800gts 640 beats it at oblivion @ stock speeds.
My primary game right now is oblivion and i play it on my oc'd 8800gts 640.

Probably closer to $300, but still a decent deal.

Except for the fact that the 320MB GTS performs dangerously close to the 640MB version. It's hard to beat that deal, and they're due for a price drop in the next few months.

Anyone able to confirm that this will work in crossfire with the 2900xt?

I have one of these on the way, from a per order, HIS one, and would love to know, since I can't get a new psu to power two of these beast until next month.

    Couple of things:

    - PCLab site is very, very reliable and as Face already mentioned they were first to report Phenom brand thanks to Mr. Ryszard Sobkowski who is one great editor.

    - Price wise in UK I already found this card in more than one e-tailer for 148 pounds on pre-order. This is below nV 8800GTS 320MB On top of that you can find HD2900Pro 1GB GDDR4 1GHz for mere 180 pounds

@gdogg this card is virtually identical to regular HD2900XT so definitely YES! Besides with ATI you can couple X1600 with X1650 and X1900XTX with X1950XTX no problem at all
@d1b1 thanks for greetings! I'm now in lovely Torquay, UK. Beautiful place and great people!
