Just got a LCBQE 0730 DPMW from NewEgg.
Could not find any information on this one. Have you guy's seen anything on the DPMW don't want to open till I find some numbers on it.

Interesting, you have a pretty recent stepping, which chip and which warehouse did it ship from?
I have a 170 from the TN warehouse. Also for others out there who want to take a risk or what not with finding other steppings for a good price, zipzoomfly is a good place too, prices are competitive with the egg, I almost ordered from there but hardly anyone reports what they recieved from there so I thought, meh, I'll go just with the egg(speaking to US consumers).

Sorry,
It's a 185
Package had no ship from Fed-x tracking said it shipped from EDISON, NJ.
Well I guess I'll open up and pop her in. Was hoping for some info. about it.
Bought it just to get a little more lift out of my 939. Till I see where all the cards playout with the new AMD's. Need something to try and push my 8800 a little more running on a Abit AN8 sli.
Checked Amdgeek.net and they had nothing.
Thanks for your comments.
Well my 180 just arrived...its a CCBWE 0550XPMW. Looks like a few other CCBWE 0550's have hit decent speeds. Anyone have anything recent on this stepping? I've got class in a minute but I'll slap it in as soon as I get home tonight.

I'll post screen shots soon enough, but right now I'm at stock voltage( 1.35, but posting as 1.328 on cpu-z) 2.8ghz priming on orthos.
There seems to be something wrong as my cpu core speed blips from 2800.x-up to 2828x.x at times, a little scary, any ideas?

Well this stepping is trash. It's done at 2.7Ghz. I'm running 2.760 stable so far but at 1.475 volts and I'm hitting 60C under load when playing Bioshock. Even hit 61C for a second. That's too hot for me. I don't know what you guys are running at but this chip sucks. I guess its back to the Egg with this one. I don't think I even noticed any gain in FPS in Bioshock either. All I noticed was both of my cores being utilized heavily during the game.
So what if I scored 7311 in NuclearMC and my 3DMark06 goes up, so far I can't say it was worth it one bit spending the ~$170 for it.

Yeah, I'm going to do one more night of testing again tonight when I get home from work and then class. As the night grew longer, it almost seemed to scale slightly better as the time progressed. I eventually was able to get a screenshot at 2.8 but didn't even bother to run any benches. I'm wondering if this chip is experiencing the good ole "burn in" as it seems to break in the more I use it.

Never had much luck with burn ins, so I gave up on it. But yours seems to be doing better so maybe I should try it again. You still have some time and 30 days for an exchange. Hopefully, it'll get where you want it. Me I'm waiting for my new case to be delivered by Fedex today. Cant wait to get out of this tiny wavemaster. Anyway, good luck on the new cpu, if not there's another one out there that'll do what you want.![]()
It's like a car, it will probably do some better when it's broken in, correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but isn't the paste underneath the IHS pretty fresh when you buy it new? And that prevents proper cooling on core for some time?... Just thinking logically, I don't actually know, but it makes sense in my head right now atleast![]()

orthos stable 8 hours 21 minutes, 1.3volts @ 2800mhz. temps ranging from 49c(core 0) to 54c(core1) during full load
I promise, I had this stable for at these exact settings for 8 hours 21minutes, I even took a screenshot as soon as I woke up, but then I had to leave out the door and shut the comp down, silly me I didnt' save the screen shot, take my word for it.
notes***:
*core temp kept making my system freeze, hence it's not up, but smart guardian seems to post temps for my core 0 only(happens to be about 5-6*c cooler than my core 1).
*I'm on air cooling, xp90 with 120mm fan in sig.
*I booted at 3000mhz with 1.4volts and ran orthos for 2minutes 47 seconds(failed at that point)
*I decided to go for the highest stable clockspeed with a lower voltage because of my cooling setup(at 2.94mhz w/ 1.375 volts, core1 was reaching 61*c while priming)
*my ram is somewhat of a limiting factor, it has tight timings but likes to stay around 205mhz +/- 5mhz.
This stepping is pretty good, overall very satisfied, I'll update my sig soon.
If you have any requests I can take more screenshots, I know my words don't mean crap unless it's backed up, but I did have this primed for 8 hours 21minutes, stupid me woke up late for class and had to run out the door, I pressed the key for a screenshot but I wasn't thinking to open up paint and to paste it(disoriented from waking up)

Not running the stock HSF so I wouldn't know. I do know the any thermal paste does have a "break in" of sorts. I'm running AS5 and I know its rated at maximum efficiency once it has reached so many hours of use. Mine does seem to be doing slightly better the longer I use it, but I can't truly tell until I can spend some more time with it. I may even try reapplying just to make sure I'm getting a good bond between my Zalman and Opty.

Agreed.
On a side note, I was bidding on a 185 on Ebay a few days back and apparently I have recieved a second chance offer as the original buyer backed out. So, that means I'm offered a 185 with stepping LCB9E 0630BPMW for $125! I believe that's the same stepping as yours PhilDoc? Looks like they're hitting 3Ghz no problem, some having to run ~1.475, some a bit less. So, that basically means I'm definitely sending my 180 back to NewEgg for a refund and I'll be picking up the 185 instead. That pretty much made my day.

Yep, same stepping exactly. That was actually 1.6v, a cpu-z glitch. Since then I've gotten 1M pi at 3.3G and screened over 3.4G on extreme air. Two 190 cfm fans, lol. It has a cold bug though. Started losing OC at -25C on the evap and wouldn't load vista at -30C on the evap at 3.1G. Should be a great cpu and for $125, what a steal.
Hope so too. I run it at 1.5v at 3.144 24/7 with two 86cfm fans on a Ultra-120 X. It'll do prime for 2 hrs at that setting and hasn't crashed on me yet. At 3.12G and 1.5v it'll run prime all day. Anyway, enough of my cpu. I think you did the right thing and I hope it kicks the poop out of mine.![]()
I recently picked up a 165 Opty LCBQE 0712 and I'm loving it. I have it up to 2.9 so far but I think I may be limited by my FSB. The computer won't boot if I raise the FSB past 325 no matter what the cpu voltage is set at. Any ideas for boosting it even further? Do I have to bump up the chipset voltage more?
Will any memory timings affect the FSB? I have BH-5 so the timings are super tight. The memory doesn't seem to be the limitation because I've had the stuff running stable at 260mhz before but with dividers it's currently only at 225mhz.
