So it seems that the S-Flex would be a good choice to replace my noctuas with then. Though, if you want a 1200rpm fan should you just go with the s-flex E instead of F? Or is the noise:cfm ratio better on the F?

I would like to jump in and says thanks to Vapor for all his hard work that many will benefit from.

I have been following the thread on and off when I have time to read and from what I see the Sanyo Denki are nice fans. http://store.thermalfx.com/merchant2...egory_Code=120

Tell me if my idea is flawed in any way.

I would like to use two of the above fans for front intake and one in the back for exhaust on a Lian Li PC-A70B. If I use a 3pin to 4pin directly to the PSU what speed would the fans default too? Or do I need a fan controller.

Those fans look exactly like my evercool aluminum fans that are sub par at best. They push a ton of air (2000rpm) but are quite loud. Easily 36dba+.

They are so quiet that it's almost negligible. If you need the added cooling it's good to be able to turn it all the way up (and back down for silent cooling). I would just get the F as not to limit yourself.

Oh yeah, so you can adjust the speed of the S-Flex with apps such as SpeedFan then? If I remember right I didn't manage to adjust the speed of my Antec 3-speed TriCools with software.

Just an update on the Yate Loon-sl fans. I got 3 and have them on a gts 360 rad. They push air well enough but it seems that they suffer quite a bit from the increased fin density. I have a Thermochill rad on the way so we'll see what kind of differnce there is.

Also, as a nonscientific comparison to the Antec Tri-cool that come with the Antec cases. The YL-sl push much more air at low speeds and at full speed are barely as loud as the Antec are on low. Great buy the YL are.

One more thing. Not that I'm not completely happy with Vapors analysis, but I bet a lot of people would like the same thing done for the small fan market (40mm?)

I can say, I own 3 San Ace 1011 fans. They are amazing. I broke one, stupid me. So I just ordered 2 more. I can basically cool a Q6600 @ 3.8ghz @ 100% core usage w/ 2 of these fans on a triple rad. I will be using another and see if I can get my temps down. The other will be used to create pseudo-hurricanes for hurricane season. You never know when another one will pop up, cough Katrina cough.

Seriously, these fans are amazing. Undervolted, I can barely hear them from 3 feet away and they still move serious air through a rad.

I have 3 coming in as well, should be here any day now. Can't wait to replace my Panaflos with these to keep my Q6600 cool.

I agree, just finished ordering two more Sanyo Denki San Ace 109R1212H1011 Fans from Thermal FX there good fans but expensive.

Mojaveron, I almost want to get a mountain mods case w/ 9 120mm fan holes just to fill it with these and see what kind of temps I could get on air.

I really can't thank Vapor enough. Before his reviews, I knew nothing about fans in general. I thought there were good and bad fans. I didn't think that there was such a large range of fan quality. At least I'm now an informed consumer, THE WORST KIND!

Do you guys think that using 6 of these in a push pull config on a rad will add a noticeable (at least 3 or 4*C) decrease in temp over just 3 fans pulling?

Depends on the rad and at what speed you keep them at...as well as heatload.

It's interesting to note that the owner of Performance-pcs.com, Hank, has been recommending the S-Flex 1600rpm fans for quite some time. He personally recommended me these fans almost 8 months ago for cooling a rad. It's good to see that great knowledge does exist beyond XS.

I think I will pick up a Sharkoon just to compare it with the S-Flex.

I've been using Scythe S-Flex fans and they are definitely very good. Using the SSF21F to cool an Ultra-120 Extreme:

I've read all of this tread and i'm confused what fan to buy.

I had 2 noctua,silence are good (front fan,back fan) but in my infinity i had a silenx pro leds 1200rpm 72cfm that was suposed to do 17dba.I'v seen this fans had problems because had to much cfm.

I want to know the best fan to put on my Scythe infinity and on my thermalright HR-03

Im about to buy some Yate Loons from PTS, but I cant decide between the high speed and the medium speed.

Currently Im using the stock fans from my TT Tsunami, which flat out suck. A buddy is selling me his Sunbeam rheobus and a Yate medium for $15. I was thinking about putting the Yate medium as intake, buy 2 high speeds, one for exhaust and one for my CPU heatsink. I have a 92mm on the side as intake as well, which is why I would only put the medium in the front intake.

How well do Yate high speeds undervolt with a rheobus? Do they still move a decent amount of air? Noise isnt too much of a concern when gaming, I usually wear a headset unless my roommate and I are playing alongside each other.

The high speeds and medium speeds are the same price on PTS, so either is an option.

the Yate sl I have do really well at 5-7v. very quiet and still moving decent air. Not sure about the medium and high speed ones

Vapor, I was playing around with my water cooling set up and decided to drop my OC a little (from 3.825 to 3.780 ghz ) and run prime 95....

With my san ace 1011's, I can keep them at 5v (I believe its 5v, the dial on my sunbeam rheostat is red and turned JUST before the light turns blue) and I can barely hear them. This much air flow through my MCR320 is enough to run prime95 CONSTANTLY w/o overheating. These are crazy good fans. My temp for the whole cpu is 51*C speedfan (I guess you add 15*C to that?) Either way, thats good considering the CPU is @ 100% constantly now for over 90 minutes.

SAN ACE FTW. Now just to figure out how to buy them for less than 20 bucks each.

I have a question that might fit in this thread...I suppose.

When wiring 3 fans together with solder to hook up to 1 fan controller. Should there be, or will there be any loss in performance for any of the fans? To me the answer seems obvious, which is no. Am I right to assume that?

Because I hooked 3 fans together and 1 fan is a bit stronger than the other 2. My thought is that the other 2 are just not as good....should have binned them eh.
