    LN2, ghetto blocks, P35 LanParty T2R, E6850 and 8800GTX

    e6850 - SLA9U / L721A511
    DFI LANParty UT P35
    Crucial Ballistix Tracer pc8500 2x1gb
    8800gtx oem - vgpu & vddr
    Aopen 700w
    Raptor 35gb

    cpu cooling - ln2 & ghetto pot 5
    gpu cooling - ln2 & ghetto pot 4

    ghetto5 system test mounted

getting everything ready...dry run lasted about 30minutes with 0 cooling before the block hit 50 degrees

    first pour...smoke! B-)

    sub0 bios flashing

this block just eats ln2...as suspected the surface area allows for very rapid temp pulldown
one needs to be carefull not to overpour or the temps will just plummet rapidly

condensation autopsy after about 5 hours of -110' block temps and -130' bios temps
the ice didn't stop us in the end ...i think it was the tequila

luckily there was sticky tape sealing air out of all the underside components...still ghetto :P

well the ln2 allowed us to capture the 1M drag race in my country...and run all the 2D hwbot benchies at between 5.1 and 5.2ghz

here is the rest hwbot 2D suite excepting the suicide cpu-z bench for which we hit -5268mhz variefied-

    super-pi 32M

    hexus pifast

    wprime 32M

    wprime 1024M

    more pics...the collection is growing

anti-condensation packaging tape actually works a treat

vpgu and vddr vmods at 1.6v and 2.1v respectively

no more zip ties...oh well this method seems reliable too...lol

    some more smoke

cpu could run to -110' before coldbugging and the gpu could handle about -90'

seems we picked up some water vapour by not keeping the ln2 interim container closed

    yup...gpu mount looks good too

some 3D...no screenie for 03 as we were running out of ln2...'06 and aquamark didn't run for some reason

all in all a succesfull weekend besides the few benchies we missed.
would have been great to have a core that does 5.5ghz on ln2 too...this one wouldn't even at 2.06volts...haha
    anyway the hunt continues ...

    Nice ones

BTW you may wish to turn LargeSystemCache reg value to 1 prior to run Spi 32M. Win XP doesn't have it enable by default while 2k3 does.

    Anyway, nice benchies.
    Best Regards,

@ All - Thanks for the comments

@ Before - Thanks for the advice, the 32M run is not well tweaked - we will save that for next time

Not entirely sure why we could not get the GPU to play this time round, but as with all things the first attempt on our current hardware with news pots & stronger cooling always leaves a fair deal of questions, but gives alot more answers

    thanks again everyone...

@ Nosfer@tu - yes we taped up the 8800gtx ram too and half the rest of the front of the card...also the back of the card was taped...and so was the entire topside of the board around the cpu....this tape thing works well if the card/board is flat enough

@ google - looking foreward to your success too...this design actually works best for dry-ice...for ln2 the surface area is too high and temps fall very fast if you overpour...the key is small splashes of ln2 every few moments...or alteratively start by taping closed or otherwise blocking off about half the surface area holes...that will stop the temps from dropping too rapidly and give you more manageable temp control

edit/ google - whover does the drilling...if its a drill press and drillbit style it is advisable to clean the copper shaving off and oiling your bit every hole you drill

now i understand why the designs are changing for LN2 pots

    excellent insight

Congrats on courage, must be a great feeling flashing bios on LN2 with 2v+ vcore .
For SS and just spi 1m 2.1v vcore may be painlessly but 32m run on that high vcore is wooooooooow .

    Great run .

    EDIT: Great collection of pots!

Great results and a nice colection of pots. I take it that copper is very cheap in your country?
