Intel is showing an air cooled penryn quad core
overclock on their x38 chipset at 3.85 Ghz in the
demo area. They claim it's an ordinary (not cherry
picked) 3 Ghz part. It is running at 1.456v.

It went perfect, 10 world records reset today.
10x reduction in gate leakage = more speed with less volts
we will soon see 6ghz 45nm overclocked parts.
I will post images later today, some I don't have saved on usb drive
The current pi we is 8.40 seconds
294 am3 with iq and no video card overclock, well over 300k tweaked

    Ill post more later

    This post really confused me.
The guy sets 10 new world records in a morning and you find a negative.
Maybe they are just so fast that Intel wanted to show off what was in them.

And it's not like he needed to overclock them in order to beat the competition.

I think Intel is trying to get enthusiast crowds attention. They know that AMD was very popular with the people that wanted the most out of their chips and now Intel wants to corner that market also. They know its a growing sector and they want it.......thats all.

Absolutely incredible results. Intel is really gunning for the enthusiast crowd with the X38 chipset, and what better way to showcase the product meant for enthusiasts than by bringing Xtreme Systems into the fold at IDF. Well done Fugger. Show us more
