I really want to get away from Overclocking for a while "no time" lately because of work and life so what would be my best bet if I choose not to wait for middle or late 2008 for new board from SM a Dual Dual socket F or what?
if by "current" you mean Socket L1, then, yes, i think your overall performance will have a damper on it. If you mean Socket L1-SP, then, i think you'll be in much better position for next year.

Ok let me simplify this maybe I guess so I can understand this better!
Is a current Dual Socket F board with say 2 ~ 2220's going to be faster than a Dual Barcelona on the same board due to the memory latency with Barcelona due to Motherboard limitations?

If I elect to set up a Dual Socket F Super Micro Work station/ Server now instead of waiting for the new boards in half a year or longer will the 2 dual cores be better for my needs in over all speed currently?

    Intel 520 180GB Cherryville

depends on your workload and application set. i obviously have the opinion that a synchronously clocked MC is better than a down-clocked one, but...whatever. that's just a specs thing...

    I'd personally wait for B2s, but...that's me.

    get a split-plane board now

David, who has the split plane boards currently available that would house all of my hardware in my sig comfortably?

Less the RAM and Processor of course
