OK, this thread has too many different opinions in it.I want a Q6600 for My GA-965P-DS3 REV 1.0 + TITAN AMANDA with AS5, but I am not very sure if I should go for a B3 or G0, nor did I understand how to find out if it is B3 or G0 on the box...I will buy from retailer with no shipping. So, B3 or G0?I have read 16 pages with not so ver important info...And can anyone tell me what this means? It's what comes after 'BX80562Q6600', which is important.

    i.e. BX80562Q6600SLACR is a G0, BX80562Q6600SL9UM is a B3

    Go for a G0.

I think its was around 15 celsius inside my room out side temperature was 13 celsius when I check my local weather. Btw my temperature was really high before around 45 C IDLE, LOAD 65 C Before I had to lapped my Thermalright 120 extreme heatsink after that I got nice temperature. I had one question I heard if you overclock ur cpu, cpus life goes down to half or something is this true? I will do the test again when temperature rise to 22 C.

So I must go for A batch SLACR?Is that what you mean, for best Q6600 OC?

At this point I think no one really knows. It's all luck of the draw so far as there are A batches (SLACR) that don't clock as well as others A batches and the B batches remains to be seen. The one thing you don't want to see on the box is BX80562Q6600SL9UM (B3 quite a bit more heat for the same performance) if you are looking for a G0 Q6600.

    Another 10min prime?

btw, why do people take pics of Spi runs and benchmark screens? Screenshots are better quality and take less space.

That 1.2125v isn't you vcore it's your vid. You have a very low vid and that's a very bad thing. Might I suggest you swap your chip with my much better 1.275.(J/K)

Go by cpu-z 1.41 for your vcore.

As said the 1.2125 is your vid, and a very good vid. Nothings 100%, but you could have a very decent overclocker there

    All this A vs B talk - I'm convinced it's the week.

    I had a B3 L720B Q6600 which had a VID of 1.2750V - wasn't anything special. I did 3GHz at about 1.25V loaded on air. Sold it and got a G0 L723A which has a VID of 1.2375V, and it's doing 3.2GHz at 1.20V loaded on air.

I also posted 3.6GHz earlier (1.344V cpuz and 1.360V ET5 - average 1.35V I don't know which is more accurate) with very high temps of 70C+ after a few hours of prime.

Low VID chips are great - for water cooling. If I go over 1.4V loaded on my chip with my Ultra 120X (will get me somewhere in the 3.7GHz area) the temps get ridiculous. Now... if I only I had water cooling! No time for that unfortunately.

Hi guys, any one know why CPUZ is acting all weird and saying multi is at 6? I just got this processor into a P5K Deluxe tonight but too tired to mess around with it much. Plus its still on stock cooing :p

That looks like a really low VID? no? yes? A little while ago I saw it move up to like 1.27 or the like, but it went back down and stays there at 1.1625. I can't catch it moving anymore.

I disabled speedstep as well as "vanderpool technology" whatever that was, and now VID is staying at 1.2750v. However, CPUZ continues to show my multiplier as 6, probably cause i have it all left on AUTO. Sometimes when the CPUs are in use the multi jumps to 9 lol

Let`s have a beginner question, O.K? What exactly "VID" is, and how does it reflect overclocking? And which is better-Lower, or Higher VID?

It appears that E6400 is a far better overclocker than any Q6600 (in percentage) on air cooling...Maybe I will participate in the next OC championship with my E6400, in order to get higher overclock, measured in percentage...
