I love Extreme Overclocking
Having a problem that has been recently stated. Set my memory timings in bios to 4-4-4-12-1t. CPU-Z shows 2t. Memset doesn't have a command rate option which I'm surprised off. Does beta 12 support ACTUAL T1 command rate? Any information is greatly appreciated![]()
This is such a bummer. I built my LL A05 with excitement over my IP35 Pro. But two bad boards later, I switched it out with a p5n32-e. I love the 680i CS, but was really looking forward to messing with the p35. Now I guess I will just wait for x38 and c72 XE.
Anyway, this thread was great for helping me TS my problems, and just wanted to give a shout out to all those who shared and contributed.![]()
I gather lot's of people have had problems with D9GMH/GKX and this board?
Well, I'd like to join the club. My TeamGroup PC5300 3-3-3-8 (TXDD2048M667HC3DC-M) with D9GMH refuses to post no matter what.
I'd appreciate if people with working combos of D9GMH/GKX + Abit IP35 (be it Pro or w/e) would reply and attach their RAM SPD dumps here. Please use Thaiphoon or SPDTool.

Reading the manual for this board, I can install a dual kit for dimm 1 and 3 or dimm 2 and 4. But can I use two different kits, one kit for dimm 1 and 3, the other for dimm 2 and 4?

You can, but it is not recommended. If they are totally different IC's then you may get tons of errors. If they are the same brand and same IC's then you have a good chance, but it would not be good to overclock in four dimms for many sticks. For example, I have Corsair pc8500C5's and Dominator pc8500C5D's. In 4 dimms, it runs stable at ddr800 although it can go up to 1066, but overclocking is not becoming of this setup.
Not me, I have set up an IP35 and IP35 Pro now with no issues. Using Ballistix PC6400 (D9GMH). I have mine testing now at 500 (DDR2-1000) 5-5-5-15-30-2T 2.0v and so far so good. Subtimings are untouched.
If its anything like NForce4 boards, you are forced to run 2T with 4 sticks of memory.

Can some explain the problem that people are having with X-Fi and this board? I have a X-Fi sound card that I plan to install (see sig). Am I going to experience problems cause I sure hope not![]()
Hey,
Ive got a major problem with the new 400 gb hdd I just installed.
Im running in Vista. I cannot copy stuff that is big or a lot of multiple files on or off of the drive without it locking up. I have tried a reinstall of vista with no help.
Also i get sometimes port error for the sata port the drive is in, i have tried to switch the sata port it is in with no luck. Anyone have any ideas before I have to rip it out and RMA it to newegg? I have 2 sata opticals and 2x250's in raid 0.
Well I was having a problem using my mic in all of my programs but windows seemed to hear it fine. Programs had either static or a constant click in the background. I'm using 64bit vista btw. So I enabled motherboard sound and used the realtek microphone. But the x-fi output sound still works fine. Just the mic drivers that are messed up- creative's fault. But the output sound is excellent.
I've been posting too much, but I've been having too much fun overclocking on this board.
Final daily setup:
IP35 Pro
E6850 @ 400x9=3600mhz @ 1.35v
Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB PC6400 @ 4:5 DDR2-1000 = 500 5-5-5-15-30-3-3-3-3-2T @ 2.0v
Case is an NZXT Zero, heatsink is an Enzotech Ultra-X with AC MX-1 compound. Testing was done at full fan speed. PSU used is a Corsair 620HX. Temperatures are ~35c at idle and ~58c under full load for the CPU. PWM reaches only ~50-52c thanks to Ace's mod. The room is fairly warm, ~75-76F.
All other board voltages stock. I bumped the MCH from 1.25 to 1.29 but I'm not sure its really needed, I may put it back. Runs clean through Orthos, OCCT, and dual memtest (768mb each) with zero errors.
C1E and EIST are enabled, so I get 2400mhz @ 1.18v at idle and 3600mhz @ 1.35v under load. Works without a hitch. This works real nicely with a higher multi chip. My E6550 only has 6 and 7, so you don't see a huge benefit from only dropping 1x.
Got some nice round daily numbers out of this one
I messed around in Windows with 4Ghz but wasn't able to get it stable even up to 1.45v for some reason. Maybe when I get more time I'll try again, but for now I'm happy with this setup. It would be time to game, but I don't have a sound card yet. I have a bit of downtime between my Audigy 2 and the new Prelude. Should have enough muscle to last me a while.

Have the same card in my rig.....only problem I have is that the mobo placed a usb Host controller on the same IRQ with the X-Fi and anytime I plug a USB device in, the system BSOD's as soon as the devices drivers are loaded (this is the rear panel top 2 USB ports).
This may have nothing to do with the X-Fi and just be bad USB port as I have not removed the sound card to check. Just a "heads up" in case it happens to you.

I am having no problems using my X-Fi in the system in my sig, which is basically the same as yours. I am using both XP pro and Vista 32bit. I have heard the "latest" drivers have an issue but I used the Vista drivers that Vista led me to after the install on the Creative site.

just tried that hotfix. It says "does not apply to your system". Im on a legit buisness vista install that i got from my school.
Also the port error it gets is on boot, when it comes up in the bios. Sometimes it wont even detect the drive.
I just tried to do a full reformat of the drive in question, and a full long reformat bluescreens the whole machine after like 15 min or so. A quick format actually works.
If they are all 1066 tracers then why would you even ask the question in the first place? Based on your earlier post I was under the assumptin you were going to try 2 sticks of one type/brand and 2 of another which would certainly have potential for problems. But 4 sticks of the same brand/type is the fundamental way of running 4x1GB modules. Many people do so without issue.
