I see you finally got things right with the QX6850, too bad about not getting first spot though. Best wishes to you and Shamino at GC!

Im sure you guys have heard about Shaminos and my adventures here in Germany, but all that is history now. happens. Atleast now we have a good consolation score

    Compare: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=2835078

We have one day left and about 25 liters of ln2 so we will do one more run.

Efficiency at max! What about the GT1 score, what made you gain so much?

Thats it, no backups for us We were seeing so good SM2 scors for 2 days but it wasnt until the very last miniute that we finally got it threw the complete thing without looking or crashing. Changing to new retail 2900s made a world of difference. So much better clocks with less voltage and cooling.

Regarding GT1 fps. Me too was suprised about the gt1 fps, but we had it on all of the runs for two days after changing to extreme. Just no complete one until the very last minute. Hopefully sham will be able to run a campare when he gets back home on a fresh install with the same setting we used.

I will be running again in 10 days. I'm pretty low on hardware atm, very low actually

So the combo Extreme/DDR3/2900 CF should give the boost? Have you got info about the impact of thight timings on GT1?

Thats what did it yes. Ive always felt like tight timings help gt1 since it is the most memory dependent test in 3dmark 06 aswell as in 3dmark 05. But with 2900CF in 06 I would say that crossfire perf has the biggest impact. It really scales the fps in gt1 nicely as clocks go up on the gpu and gpu frame buffer. But as eveyone else I trhink it is strange that it has scaled pver gt2. But something was wrong with our rigg or the windows install (driver/3dmark06/etc.) we will now soon. But it sure doesnt feel that way since we had this perf in gt1 all along after the switch to Extreme.

Great job Kinc. Just one question for ya, 512MB cards or 1gb? And assuming that you have tried both, which do YOU prefer?

Can anybody tell me what diameter (from corner to corner) has 2900xt's core ?

Is that right that core is on the lower high level than shim ?

I just want to make ln2 pot fitted for those cards

    Thanks
    Regards
    Peter

Testing a new motherboard with a "new" QX6850. Aircooled by a Thermalright 120 with a Delta 120. Looking very good so far
