Before I answer that I am going to comment on something Raja said over at TTR hope he doesn't mind me borrowing his words but I think he has it just right so no need to say it again.
However Digital 8 vs Analogue 4 no comparison.I still think these Digital PWM's are not robust per device as conventional PWM circuits, they seem to need 2 extra devices in circuit to equal the regular switching designs, ie 8 phase digital is roughly equal to 6 phase conventional - in terms of load handling, if that.
Not to take anything away from the IP35 Pro as it is a fabulous board but imo the IP35 Pro's PWM is fine for dual cores & although it can flow enough juice for a Quad (good old analogue just wont give up) is IMO overstressed.
The IP's PWM/heatsink will easily hit 100oC + passively cooled running Prime on a Quad over say 3.6GHz & only just drops to the 70's properly air cooled.
The DFI has IMO the daddy Rolls Royce of PWM's coupled together with its decent heatsink provides very smooth power that only tops 70oC passively cooled running Prime @ 3.8GHz on a Q6600 (Its the best PWM/Heatsink I have ever come across). I have air flowing over my PWM & NB & they both run in the 40's under full load.
The benefit of having a cool PWM is there is a lot less heat soak/transfer into the board & therefore board temps & other devices around the PWM area including the CPU socket will run cooler & will hopefully allow more overclocking![]()

You'd be suprised how well a fan forcing air on the back of the motherboard will help with that very thing.I have a 120mm blowhole cut in my mobo tray with a fan forcing air onto the back of the board. I'd be lying if I said it didn't help my OC on my DFI NF4. Granted, its not as helpful as a fan blowing on top of the board, but every little bit helps.

finaly I got some stable results. Well only 3.6GHz with 450MHz FSB but I think I can life with it.
I´ve tryed to play with the SB and NB voltages but I could not get 500MHz FSB stable. Probably my debt.![]()
I´ve tested an E6420 and an E6750 on my LP T2R and the E6750 is clearly the better choice. The E6750 needs less voltage and runs 10°C cooler then the E6420 on 3.6GHz.
Well, thats all for tonight. Tomorrow I will beginn to install the board in my case and hope that the system will run some time.

I think I mentioned I took my board in a few days ago. They spent a good hour or so running tests on it, along with my ram and cpu. Obviously, this is when they discovered that my board was screwed.
Went back yesterday, and was told that my replacement wouldn't be in until the 18thI explained that this was a real inconvenience, and they very kindly lent me a new DFI P35-T2RL Blood to use until my replacement comes in.

Well I got my DFI P35 today and it follows suit with the rest of this unreliable Intel TRASH C1 Error various other problems then continuous reboot and no post. Thats absolutely it....... I have had enough of this crap!!!! This will be 7 Motherboards in only 4 months that have went belly up all with the Intel Logo and trademark of unreliability and low standard of quality with high price tag to be their friggin Beta Tester and pay through the Nose to boot!
I will be selling all of my Intel TRASH and never buying another product from them EVER!!!!!

Thats not good
I had a few C1 errors when I first got my board & I just figured I was being too heavy handed with it as I haven't had one since.
Compared to the last few boards I have had the DFI BIOS cycles slowly so make sure you give it time to boot/double boot.
For me 1:1 gives me C1 errors at random now & again when I rapidly adjust settings/fsb yet all the other dividers work flawlessly & will let me make any changes & still boot.
Remember you have to have power to the board to use EZ Clear it will not clear CMOS with the PSU switched off. Hold reset down, then hold power down too wait 4+ seconds release power then reset then hit power to boot. It will then boot & power off then boot & allow you back in CMOS.
Also something Eva showed me, If you just want to reset the fsb as you over cooked it power down hold down home & power back on, the rig will boot then power off you then let the home key go & it will re-boot & allow you to hit del to get back in the BIOS.
Hope this helps this board is great but you have to respect it.

i played with my P35-T2R for a couple hours yesterday and there was a huge Vdrop with a highly overclocked Quadcore it seems . Also i had issues with voltage adjustments over 1.60V . For example 1.60V + 106% in bios i was getting only 1.61V reading in BIOS Monitor and ITE SG Monitor Idle and 1.56V loadedOk ... 1.60V set in bios = 1.56V readings by BIOS monitor , so 1.56 x 106% should be 1.6536V right ? But no ... it reads only 1.61V for some reason . With 1.60V + 110% should be 1.716V but it reads only 1.66V

Very strange but oh well , may be i should check with DMM next time . But yeah Vdrop was prety bad when pushing quad to high clocks , i did play with my dualcore 6850 and vdrop was much better , almost no Vdrop what so ever even @ 4.7GHz

I would not be surprised at a .05v droop @ 5GHZ with a Quad what board do you know of that droops less out of the box @ that speed ?
You do know the Vcore Droop Control is mislabeled in the BIOS I take it enabled is disabled & vice versa ?
Use CPU-Z 1.41 it will give you a very near accurate vcore reading 1.40.5 is useless as imo is Smartguardian. If you want accurate use a DMM.

Good old DFI they always always get at least one thing backwards in the BIOS, I swear they do it just to test us LOL
I had a problem with my PSU when I first got my board & until I found it I tried everything including 823. I didn’t run 823 for long & didn’t find any extra stability or speed. I would not take my findings as definitive based on a quick test with a duff PSU if I were you. Give it a go let us know how you get on![]()
